In this interview the man who acted as Zachary Powers talks about the popularity of the show in Europe and his admiration for Barbara Stanwyck. He performed in just one scene with her, despite asking for more.
If I remember correctly, he actually appeared in two scenes with her (which is still minuscule in the grand scheme of things). There was one in Jason’s office, where Connie got Zach to admire the view from behind Jason’s desk & said that would be the only time he would do that while she was still alive (I’m presuming this is the scene he recalls) and another minor one at a gathering of some sort in the mansion.
I think Stanwyck had a similar issue to Montalban re: promises being made before signing up, that didn’t eventuate. She was told she’d have scenes alongside her old
Big Valley costar Linda Evans but beyond the initial intro episodes on
Dynasty, they never appeared together again. Although, this probably wasn’t helped by Linda never guesting on
The Colbys (for whatever reason) like some of the others did.
