Sexytimes between Liam and Fallon isn't very successful, since she is distracted by the flow of.... Fallon Unlimited stock. I assume the IPO happened in that two-week time jump after Anders's death. Who's buying all her stock? That annoying Colin from several episodes back, back "like a bad rash". He says he only needs 5% more to have controlling interest. She marches into battle, but he out-maneuvers her again, saying he plans to be installed as Chairman of her Board. No, that's not a euphemism, by the way--he wants to run her company, not...well, you know...

We're all watching Ava trying to move in on Liam while Fallon's preoccupied with FU business.

Kirby's back from rehab. Awkwardness between her and Adam. She confides to Sam that she feels she needs to make a lot of amends with him, among others. She even apologizes to the new pool guy (who never met her).

Amanda arrives at the manor and apologizes to Blake for messing up Blake's press conference in the last episode. After some chit-chat Blake excuses himself to leave Amanda to sit with Cristal in the sunny dining room. When a shaft of sunlight hits Amanda's eyes, Blake notices her sneeze. So anyway, Blake heads upstairs to look through some of Anders's household paperwork, then drops by Alexis's cavernous penthouse to suggest Amanda is his daughter. From Anders's notes at the time: Blake and Alexis attended Warren Buffett's New Year's Party and around the time Amanda was conceived. Blake recalls they ended up in bed that night. Alexis still denies Blake is the father. He even points out that Amanda sneezes in unexpected sunlight just like he does. Well, I do too---does this make me another lost Carrington kid?
Why Does the Sun Make Some People Sneeze? - FOCUS - A health blog from Mass Eye and Ear

So Culhane has gotten Andre, some internet blogger/podcaster to do a show from the hotel, hoping that it will get expanded to regular podcasts once "the club opens". Color me confused: wasn't the expansion into the Club Colby space supposed to be conference space and expanded hotel amenities? If they wanted a "club," they could have just kept Monica's Club Colby intact and not involved Leo and his goons. Arrrgghhh....the blogger/podcast guy is interviewing Jeff about the outer-space plans, but Jeff gets pissed off with the guy and walks out mid-interview. Culhane is....puzzled. I'm puzzled by the CGI "street" outside the hotel---are they unable to do any remotes in downtown Atlanta now? Come to think of it, we barely see the outside of the manor, either.

So Fallon is having to curry favor with her Board members in a last-ditch effort to keep her job. One would think Fallon would have hand-picked people who would be on her side the few months ago when she formed the company, but apparently not. Uh-oh, her uber-romantic dinner under the stars with Liam is conflicting with the board meeting, and Liam feels he is once again on the losing side.

Blake and Adam try to get some DNA off a martini glass that Amanda has handled, but Alexis cleverly "intercepts" the glass before Blake can make off with it. Later, Adam reveals he took Amanda's hairbrush to achieve the same goal. No wonder these Carringtons are so rich---they're kleptomaniacs. Alexis tells Amanda she is afraid that Blake will turn her (Amanda) against her (Alexis) like he did all her other children. Yeah, like Alexis had nothing to do with that.

Kirby pulls up her big girl panties and finally apologizes to Adam for all the hurt she inflicted on him. He says he's not mad---just sad, because he had been picking out rings and all. He doesn't even think they can be friends again. Sam finally blows his stack and points out that she hasn't made amends with HIM, after all the hand-holding and worrying. She realizes Sam cares more about her than anyone on Earth now and apologizes.

Jeff calls Andre and asks him to re-do the podcast, since he screwed it up. Jeff confesses to Culhane he did not get approval on a launch pad space, and he was upset about it. Culhane tells him he could get a launch pad in the ocean---old oil rigs (formerly the property of Carrington Atlantic) off the Georgia coast could be re-purposed if a certain US Senator gets the permits. Or......Culhane and Jeff could throw support $$$ behind Blake's opponent and do the old quid pro quo. Either way, Jeff gets his launching pad.

The board meeting is held, and surprise! Colin only gets one board member to vote with him--everyone else votes with Fallon. He says he will divest the stock and leave, but Fallon confesses that he is just as driven and ruthless as she is, and asks if he will stay on "as a consultant." He thinks she has the hots for him (she kinda does), but when he isn't looking she has a smart-ass look on her face that says she has revenge on her mind.

Blake shows up at the penthouse again to announce Amanda is his daughter--the tests prove it. Amanda yells at both of them as being horrible people and says she will deal with them on her own terms, that they can't treat her like property. Battle lines are clearly drawn between Blake and Alexis. Back at the manor, Blake announces Amanda's paternity to the family members and others assembled, but they seem to shrug and move on, having gotten accustomed to the drama after all this time I guess.

Ava "drops by the manor" to deliver a file for Fallon to Liam, claiming not to know where she is. Maybe she went out for drinks with the board? He's there waiting for Fallon to have that special dinner with her. Fallon arrives a few minutes later to find a note on the table---Liam has left. He decides to go on a nighttime hike with Ava and some of her friends, and Ava has that smug look of triumph on her face.

Obviously, Fallon and Liam are gradually growing apart. I'm sure they'll end up getting back together somehow (because that's how CW works), but I kind of hope not. There's usually very little places where soap couples can go except off screen once they end up getting their happily after and they're too young to be a show tent pole couple.
Glad Colin is seemingly staying for a little while at least - I said it when he first appeared that I thought he had a few more episodes in his storyline. Plus Fallon's been sort of stuck with guest-star-of-the-week this season.

I'm glad the Amanda business was settled. If only there was a child that Alexis had that wasn't Blake's? I did lol at her pointing out the obvious - if Blake suspected Amanda might be his, why not just ask Amanda for a DNA test?

It would logical if Ava was paid by Adam to separate Fallon from Liam. That would be Adam's revenge since Fallon separated him from Nadia.

I fear they'll make it that Colin paid for her since she does strike me as a bit "too good to be true" sort of thing. It'd be a shame though, since it would mean Colin isn't a viable love interest and just a villain trying to break them up.

I also came to the conclusion that Ava is working with Colin. He would need a "mole" in Fallon Unlimited to stage this takeover attempt. Going after Liam might just be her idea.

If Amanda were four years old, I could see her parents acting this way, but she's got to be in her mid-twenties at least to have a law degree and a job. I'm terrible at judging ages by appearance, but the timeline for her career tells me she ain't four years old. Blake was being silly; Adam was just being Adam.

Amanda was born in 1996 (they mentioned that Anders' journals noted Alexis came back from Europe), so she's 25.

They've been so reluctant to "introduce us" to Amanda that I still have no idea just what she's like. I guess the show wants the viewers to be guessing until the last few episodes, when they will reveal more of what she's like to set up cliffhangers and plots for the next season. Kind of like how the aliens in V seemed so nice and benevolent at first, until one of them ripped off their mask and revealed they were all evil, lizard people.

One thing that did occur to me: if Anders was so keen to keep tabs on everyone and monitor all of the Carrington family's comings and goings, how did he miss Alexis's affair with the yoga instructor? He obviously knew she was willing and able to cheat on Blake (see: Steven), so one would think he would keep his eye on her. Also, he would have had surveillance of some sort on her when she went abroad, since she was still Blake's wife--even if they were on a trial separation. Once you became a Carrington, he took your security seriously because that was his job. An argument could be made that he would have been MORE keen to keep tabs on her in case they needed ammunition in a divorce proceeding. Not sure it will ever be addressed since Anders is now gone, but it's a little thing that bugs.

Confession: l like the scenes between Blake and Alexis in NuDynasty more than on the original.

Also: I loved it when Kirby thought for a little moment she is now a family member before Blake announced Amanda is his daughter. :lmao:

Right now they seem to be writing her as the audience character - ie someone who points out how dreadful and ridiculous everyone else has become. I'm sure it won't last, but I did enjoy her having a normal person reaction by just pointing out that they could've just asked her to take a DNA test. There was really no reason for this huge ruse since I'm sure she's curious about who her biological father is.

If she is smart enough for Oxford, then she ought to be smart enough to have already HAD a DNA test that proved her parents were not her biological parents. No point in barging in "Cousin Alexis's" enormous penthouse to accuse her of being your mom unless you already know she is.

Speaking of whom, did they say what Amanda's parents' surname was? I assume mom's maiden name was Morrell, but what about dad?

I don't think they've mentioned it yet, but in the original it was Rosalind (played by Juliet Mills, who also married Maxwell Caulfield) and Hugh Bedford.

I like the actress who’s playing Amanda,
Maybe she’ll take it upon herself to find out what ever happened to her brother Steven. No one else seems to care after 2 years,
This show lost steam when Nicolette left and they dropped James MCcay.
Fallon had the most realistic relationship with him (and also Monica) and didn’t throw out one liners all the time, also she was still connected to the family plots with Steven being around , now she’s more separated with just ignoring her marriage and her company’s weekly drama.
To drop the Steven, Adam story the way they did was really sloppy in today’s standards of television shows.
This season is almost through so I assume there won’t be at least closure where the character returns even briefly to expose what Adam did and then having that open up what he did to Alexis as well.
I’m assuming the remaining episodes will be more Culhaneand Sam non drama and whatever weekly crisis for Fallon’s company involves,
Also the woman who is playing Alexis now just doesn’t cut it in that role.
And yes Blake just needed to ask Amanda to do a dna test there was no need for those ridiculous scenes at the bar then with her hairbrush,

I have no way of knowing, but I don't think they will re-visit Adam's attack on Alexis, since they have already shown Alexis not blaming him or vowing revenge, which is odd considering how people have gotten on "her list" for doing a lot less to her. Alexis seems to have forgiven him for it; they even have Adam on some moral high horse because Alexis tried (and succeeded, I guess) to break up Adam's relationship with Kirby.

As for Steven, I think Amanda will be just as silent as everyone else is, since that seems to be the writing directive from above. There are many different writers doing individual episodes, but all of them seem to have been instructed not to bring him up. Besides, Amanda does not seem to be too eager to learn very much about the family. Part of that might be having known some basic stuff due to being (supposedly) Alexis's cousin, and we're led to believe that the Carringtons are tabloid fodder so she might know more about them by reading the papers. But I would be a lot more curious that she appears to be so far.

I do miss Monica, as her own character as well as how she brought out a different side of Fallon. I would not want to bring her back simply to give Fallon someone else to talk to, though---if they want to re-introduce her, she should have her own purpose and her own point of view. I think she would be quite pleased with the changes in her mother's outlook this season, and of course she would be glad to see Jeff no longer obsessing over "getting Blake". I just don't think there is room on the canvas for her--even more so with Amanda on the scene.

It should have been Steven’s funeral then this season and somehow Adam was traced with screwing with him either with surveillance footage in the hospital or his Paris apartment or eye witnesses including their French cousin who looked into what had happened, suicide, drug OD maybe and get together with Fallon and Sam to figure exactly what went down earlier then put an end to the character properly . Also the possibilities if Jeff mysteriously died this season leaving Alexis with half his company and fortune making the character of Monica to return and team up with Dominique to fight her, possibly turning Monica and Fallon into enemies too, instead with Dominique we got a diamond mine crap story with Alexis that made them both look like pathetic idiots and trying to sell a clothing line on qvc.
Monica and Dom live in Jeff’s house while Alexis moves into his penthouse in town (Fallon even had to be involved in the penthouse in this reboot)and takes over trying to run his company together with them,
Alexis should still be wanting Blake back like that character did in season 1 with Celia and season 2 with Crystal and there should still be rivalry between the two woman which doesn’t exist anymore, I guess the writers can’t fit that in with all of Fallon’s weekly melt downs,
There is no Crystal Alexis feud now and that lily pond fight I think last season did not count, That Alexis didn’t cause that Crystal to have a miscarriage, The original and every other serial drama with exception of daytime when it goes on for decades prove recasts do not work and this show recasted for no reason over and over with Crystal and I guess had to with Alexis but it still doesn’t work,
Alexis trying to take Blake down and fighting Dominique who maybe sides with her brother even though they don’t trust each other and maybe. Bringing Ben on to fight with Alexis would have been a lotmore entertaining than whatever happened this season which is almost done.

This season could have ended with Alexis taking over the manor and right after throwing Blake and Crystal out gets arrested for Jeff Colby’s murder with evidence that Monica discovered or maybe planted to get revenge on her marrying her brother when he’ wasn’t well.
There could also have been a 2 Crystal plot this season with Celia coming back from the dead who wasn’t really killed in the loft but was brought back in the hospital then bargained with the doctor who saves her to say she died because she desperately wanted away from Blake and her life with the Carringtons. Then wanting revenge on her friend Crystal for taking over her life and husband right after she was supposedly killed, this plot isn’t half as implausible asLiz Gilles as Alexis.
We could have gotten the Crystal on Crystal catfight with this cliffhanger too, and who would Blake have chosen,
The actress who played Celia probably wouldn’t have agreed after how she was treated by this production tho,
