Without her DALLAS hair, I don't recognize her.

It’s been difficult through the last two seasons but I think I can make it. Three major gripes early on…

Why did they bring back Lucy two years ago with absolutely nothing for her to do? There was ‘nothing to do at the ranch except make unfunny comments about JR. Did someone owe Charlene something?

2. Alex Barton - torture. Did the producers say “Man the Laurel Ellis and Don Lockwood stories were so well received, let’s add another British artist to the storyline here!!” (Season 12 was so beneath Ian McShane.)

3. Whose brilliant idea was it to add that talentless Kimberly Foster to the main cast? They couldn’t have brought back Tracey Lawton instead?

4. (One more). I hate that JR is a bumbling buffoon who is bested in every deal now and Bobby has to explain the oil business to him. I know this has been said a million times but who thought it would be a great idea to have our supervillain become this emasculated? Losing once in a while is subverting expectations. At this point I’m surprised he can get himself dressed in the morning.

The more I watch the more I hate Alex Barton’s stupid face and his stupid voice.

I never liked Clayton.
JR was right that Clayton was an interloper, outsider and a jealous suitor who courted his wife and his mother,
among other things.
However, I had to feel sympathy for Howard Keel that the season 13 storyline for him was so ridiculous.
The producers of the Jessica Fletcher show and Angela Lansbury must have been laughing quite a bit
at the poorly written, poorly acted and poorly directed copy.

What I liked about season 14 was that first Cally and then James had interesting exit storylines, unlike Miss Ellie and Lucy in season 13, whose goodbyes were unfortunately made with no effort at all. I also liked that JR was actually faithful to Vanessa, but she didn't believe him.

The revelation of who killed Johnny Dancer was actually a surprise for me at the time because I didn't expect the writers to go there.

The showdown with Hilary Taylor on Southfork was also entertaining for me and I remember that it made me quite curious about what would happen in the final two episodes.

All that's true. But it mostly didn't work -- DALLAS was now strictly amateur hour.

Interesting how the dude in the bar in malibu who was talking to Bobby was pitching the storyline to Twin Peaks!

Also did they re-use Miss Ellie's car for the one Hilary's daughter uses?

I agree. Good parts of an otherwise disappointing season
I would also say that it was fun to see Barbara Eden reunite onscreen with Larry Hagman

Wait til episode 4, you will feel (slightly) better... :cool1:danc:
Is that about April?
I liked April and I like Sheree Wilson.
I also liked her as Alex Cahill in "Walker, Texas Ranger"
It is not SW fault that the showrunners paired her with Bobby

April was good as a supporting character who was involved with JR and the Oil business
I think the writers later admitted that April's end was a mistake

You are right. Wilson is only guilty of bad acting, moving like a robot and make nasty faces. Not to talk about her horrible hairdo, which probably was her choice. The one who regretted April´s death was Wilson because she would have loved to be in TNT´s sequel. Ugh.

I don't agree.
I thought April was a good supporting character who interacted quite well with the main cast in a variety of
roles that forwarded the plots and stories.

However, I support your right to like or dislike any character

Likewise, I also respect all opinions. My question about her was...if they had (and underused) Marilee, why to create another business-related pseudo-villainess? Before finding this board, she was just a reason to skip scenes. I do understand (up to a point) why people like her now, though. :hugs:

I liked April lot in the beginning. She was amazing to me. I always wanted them to explore the relationship between April and Jack a little deeper.

At the end though, when they turned her all goody, goody, I couldn't stand her.

This may surprise you, but I didn´t mind Michelle at all. I think she carried the torch of bitchy younger sister quite decently, especially considering that there was no other interesting woman in the two last seasons. Of course, everything went down the toilet when she got Ewing Oil but...she was a clear precedent of the "Melrose Place" ladies...hairdo and all.

I think April was better as the vixen she portrayed early on. I don’t think her character was necessarily ruined once they made her into a better person but for me she just wasn’t quite as interesting after that. Didn’t like that they killed her off though. Another tragedy for Bobby wasn’t really needed and they were halfway decent together. I would’ve preferred her being Bobby’s wife later on over Anne.

Michelle gave the show a vixen in those later years when one was desperately needed. Maybe she wasn’t as memorable as Kristin or Katherine but had she come along a few years sooner and not in those final seasons I honestly think she’d be remembered more fondly. She was also a pretty good shot, much better than Sue Ellen, Kristin or Katherine apparently, and did something no one on daytime could do by taking out La Lucci.

I hate Lucy so much in this season. I’m on episode 12 right now and literally all she does is berate JR or make snide comments to him or tell him how much she wants him shot.

She’s a wealthy woman. Why is she here if she’s that miserable? Can’t she afford her own home or even a nice apartment in Dallas? Why live where she hates it so much? She’s not a child at this point. She’s been married and divorced twice. Leave Southfork if you hate it!

Also as someone said above I hate whimpering April. She doesn’t like that Kay and Culver talk politics with Bobby. Offer something, stupid! They’ve established she’s worth over $100 million, surely she can talk about something with these people.
