I'm Team Marty all the way: gotta love that Cinema of Loneliness!

1. Cape Fear (an exquisite love letter to classic film noir and the perfect '90s exploitation flick, with an extra large helping of Scorsese's secret psychosexual sauce thrown in for good measure).

2. Killers of the Flower Moon

3. Taxi Driver

4. The Irishman

5. Silence

6. Mean Streets

7. Casino

8. Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore

9. The King of Comedy

10. Goodfellas (which, on a list of most other directors' best films, would be No 1)

I would never have predicted these 2 as the number one choice for either director, they are both good films though.

Really surprised to see Black Rain on several lists. It has always been one of my favorites, but didn't realize others liked it so much as well.

I am more of a fan of Ridley Scott, because the characters in his films seem more interesting, in general.
Also, Spielberg has a tendency to go in another direction for the possible purpose of a more sanitized project.
example. The John Hammond character, as portrayed by the great Richard Attenborough, was written as a kindly grandfather
figure in "Jurassic Park", as opposed to the more ruthless, ambitious character in the novel by Michael Crichton.
As an aside, the novel is excellent, and well worth reading whether one has seen the movie or not.
Michael Crichton's work is heavily science based, and detailed in its descriptions. The characters are much more three dimensional

I will tally up the scores soon, maybe tomorrow. Until then, you can start thinking of the next theme: film series aka movie franchises. In this round, if you want to vote for, let's say, Star Wars: A New Hope, than think again. That's a no. You will vote for the entire series/franchise. That would be Star Wars, all the movies. So if you like 1 movie in a series and think the rest are absolute rubbish, then maybe you don't want to include that franchise on your list.

I looked up franchises and King Kong has many movies, old and new. But you still only vote "King Kong" once. Same with Mickey Mouse movies etc etc.
