Telly Talkers... you've stepped up to the challenge:
  • Each year, you've posted a dazzling new array of threads generating exciting, stimulating discussion
  • You've nominated your favourite threads from each year: 2016-2021
  • You've voted for our six annual winners

Now just one challenge remains: to select TellyTalk's all-time favourite thread.

Our six winners will now go head-to head in a poll. Since the awards and points won are safe, there's nothing to lose in this contest... but there's everything to gain as one of our winners will receive a second award and - most importantly - the kudos of being TellyTalk's favourite thread.

EVERYONE CAN VOTE. It takes just one click to select your favourite.

For those who are unfamiliar with them, there are links to the threads below as well as the reasons they were originally nominated.

Our 2016 winner:
DALLAS versus KNOTS LANDING versus the rest of them week by week

Thread starter: @James fog London Dungeons
Nominated by: @Thrillie Trolleson

Reason: a must-read for every fan of the prime time soap genre.

Our 2017 winner:
What Dallas item would you buy if you could?

Thread starter: Sarah
Nominated by: @Angela Channing

I chose this thread because it was interesting to see which items of Dallas memorabilia forum members valued the most and it was entertaining reading everyone's choices, both serious and humorous.

Our 2018 winner:
In the Spotlight with

Thread starter: @PhantOme of the Forum
Nominated by: @Long Lashes

This was a great idea and gave everyone the opportunity to participate and list 20 favourite songs which other members then rated. It was interesting to listen to other members choices and also to see how they rated my own.

Our 2019 winner:
20 songs with unusual or wacky song titles

Thread starter: @PhantOme of the Forum
Nominated by: @Angela Channing

All of the members chosen theme threads were great to participate in but probably the most enjoyable was songs with wacky titles because not only did it introduce me to a large number of songs I had never heard of before, many of them surprised me with how good they were despite of (or maybe because of) there unusual titles.

Our 2020 winner:
The Battle Of The Soapland Battles

Thread starter: @Richard Channing
Nominated by: @Angela Channing

I really enjoyed all the weekly themes to pick our top 5 from the prime time soaps in a battle to find the forum favourite. I couldn't pick one individual thread so I picked the final top 5 vote for which was when we had to select our favourite of all the battles. It was fun reflecting on all the soaps to identify a top 5 and reading everyone else's choices.

Our 2021 winner:
A Chronological History of Australian Soaps

Thread starter: @Carrie Fairchild
Nominated by: @Thrillie Trolleson

Reason: a wonderful read for the fans of Aussie soaps.

You may vote for only one, and THE POLLS WILL CLOSE ON MONDAY 17th OCTOBER AT 09:40 GMT.

If you'd like to go a step further (and perhaps influence others' votes), feel free to give your reasons below and tell us what you loved about these threads.

Good luck to all our winners!! And have fun voting Telly Talkers.

There have been some great threads but I have to choose so I voted for In The Spotlight because it was a great idea which produced a really interesting and fun thread. I enjoyed both answering and asking the questions and I was fascinated to find out more about my fellow Telly Talkers through their replies. The thread really brought about a feeling of community which is why it is my choice.

I voted for In the Spotlight. I thought it was fun getting to know the people we post with a little better. I enjoyed learning about their likes and dislikes and I think it even helped understanding them more when reading their opinions. It kind of created a face and personality to go along with the nickname so to speak.

Huge congratulations to @PhantOme of the Forum for the winning thread (or threads, as it turns out)... In The Spotlight with...!!!

How wonderful that the winning thread is one which involved Telly Talkers getting to know each other better. And it's a decisive win as well, with over 46% of all votes.

Your well-deserved award and the accompanying points are on the way to you.

Congrats to all our Champions for making it to the final and thanks - as ever - to every member who took the time to nominate and/or vote.

It's been fun. Let's meet again in a couple of months to look back on our favourite thread of 2022.
