Wow, there's some serious tunnel vision going on here.
If she really was nothing but a slut then the story wouldn't have worked.

The Colbys was simply too smart for most people, that's why it was cancelled.

1. Val finds Karen finding Gary and Abby in bed
Knots Landing

I can't find that staged photo of this scene anywhere. It's the one where they're all looking down. I remember @Daniel Avery commenting that it looked as though Gary had dropped his "protection".

2. Lilimae, Karen and Laura see two little butterflies flitting
Knots Landing

"He beat me."
^ Thanks to @Richard Channing for reminding me about this one.

3. Gary walks in on Abby and Peter in bed
Knots Landing

^ Thanks to @Jimmy Todd for reminding me about this.

5. Abby peeks at Ben’s "floppy disc" and discovers her husband has two more children
Knots Landing

"Gary is the father of your babies."

5. Sable observes Frankie and Philip’s liaison
The Colbys

"Philip?!"
^ Thanks to @Willie Oleson for the reminder of this one.

Thanks for your list Jessie. As it's a top 5 only 5 of your 7 are eligible. Shall I just count the first 5 in the order you've posted?

I rewatched the scene where Lilimae, Karen, and Laura catch Abby and Gary coming out of that motel. Such a good scene! I'm not even sure why exactly it was so good. It must be that the three actresses playing the trio were such pros and oozed charisma and talent. Also, Constance McCashen looks seriously beautiful in this scene.

The scene where Abby finds out about Gary's secret progeny is another great one because of Donna Mills and it was the beginning of a gripping plot in the KL tradition.

I have to do it. This is my favourite, because Minger was literally Caught in the Act of being the sneaky, two faced evil little bitch that she is:

Only Linda Grey could say the line, "Cutting you off, you viper!" and still be taken seriously. I mean, I chuckle every time I hear it, but Ms.Grey is still sublime.

What I love about that scene is the normality. Even though it's a big revelation for two of the three women, it's played in a lighthearted way, which I think makes it more accessible and real. There's nothing traditionally soapy about it, and I think Julie Harris can take a lot of the credit. Although, as you said, the charisma and talent of all three women in that scene is wonderful.

There's another scene in the same arc where Lilimae spoke to Valene about all the breakfast, lunch and dinner meetings Gary and Abby were having and quipped "I'm surprised they're not putting on weight". It's perfect. I know plenty of people who would use this kind of line in a situation like this. Gravely spoken lines with close-ups of flared nostrils and furrowed brows have their place, but I'm appreciative when the same point is made in a way that feels as though it's not out of a textbook.

This is another one that I loved for the balance of humour and drama. Donna Mills making Abby look half bored and mildly entertained by the perceived banality of Val and Ben's drama. Rolling her eyes and playfully blowing raspberries before the tone changed dramatically. It's a really intimate scene because it's shared only with the audience. And the route to get there had me invested.

Oh this is a really good one too! :ex:

I must confess I've started to have some doubts about this one fitting the theme. It's kind of "caught a year after the act".

The 'focus pull' by the cameraman is what I recall the most. The look on Donna's face as the focus moved away from the computer screen/text allows the viewer to see what makes her react that way, rather than a purposeful cut from one view (the screen) to another (her face).
