15. David Cameron lobbied the government to give millions to Greensill so he could make $60 million

David Cameron sent a series of texts to Rishi Sunak, the chancellor, trying to persuade him to grant hundreds of millions of pounds in taxpayer-funded loans to the company Greensill in which he had a significant shareholding. He also lobbied the Bank of England for funds. David Cameron told friends that he stood to make $60 million from the listing of a company.

This is how Tory corrupt works.

16. The Never Ending Story

Johnson faces MPs’ fury over Downing Street sleaze claims

Demands for action grew on Saturday after Boris Johnson’s former adviser Dominic Cummings made a series of allegations relating to his former boss, including that he had been plotting an “unethical, foolish, possibly illegal” plan to get Tory donors to secretly fund the refurbishment of the No 11 flat in which he lives with his fiancee and their young child.

The government has since said Johnson has himself paid the £58,000 bill, but it remains unclear whether he paid directly, or received a loan from the party or a donor. Labour has also raised the question of whether the correct tax has been paid on the refurbishments and any potential gifts. (...)

The latest Opinium poll for the Observer suggest the issue of sleaze is cutting through, although it is not – so far – affecting the parties’ standings. Almost four out of 10 voters think Johnson and the Tory party are corrupt. Some 37% describe Johnson as mostly or completely corrupt, compared with 31% who say he is clean and honest. Even more – 38% – say the Conservative party is corrupt, with 31% saying it is clean and honest.

I want a reboot of Shameless with Johnson and his kind as the real shameless abusers of the system.

The biggest problem is, do the majority of people care? Not to be stereotypical, which I am about to be, but if it impacted holidays to Spain or beer prices, or immigration, then perhaps but I think we have a culture here now where the majority of people real only care about their day to day lives and their own prejudices being met.

It's a bit like asking people to care about some ketchup on a carpet whilst the rest of their house is on fire and being put out. Not great timing with the perception that Johnson is responsible for the vaccine roll out (which he isn't) and people getting their freedom back.

We all know how corrupt and horrible this Government is, it runs through their veins. We have seen this very early on but people have not cared so far and I wonder what it takes for them to care.

The only glimmer of hope we have had is Trump being kicked out. I hope we see that happen here but I just can't see it.

I think a growing number of people now do care. For months, BBC News completely ignored every story about Tory corruption but recently they have been forced to start reporting the Cameron/Greensill story and now they are finally covering the story of how Boris Johnson may have illegally sought donations to pay for the refurbishment of his flat. Now that the story is making headlines more people are now aware of how squalid, corrupt and self-serving the Tories maybe people will finally wake up to how this government are screwing us over.

Ever since Brexit, I have lost faith in the British. I feel there has been a rapid increase in selfish behaviour, unless it impacts them directly they don't care.

For all the faults (and there are there in tons) this government has been exposed by how they have dealt with COVID, people will only think about how many vaccinations they have done and how fast they rolled it all out.

Forgotten is the Dominic Cummings fiasco, the shockingly amount of money wasted on test and trace as well as PPEs.

I get annoyed when I hear or read that Boris is valued as great entertainment and how he can give interesting/fascinating speeches. They don't see the corruption, they don't realise he swerves every questionable action he or his cabinet take.

Throughout last year, I truly believed people would realize how corrupt the Tories are, but all I can see now is praise for them because of the vaccine rollout.

I hope you are right, I just think there is a long way to go, I have been astonished by their actions from the start and the majority only cared about Brexit.

Now Boris has apparently stated "Let the bodies pile up", in regards to not wanting more Lockdowns. He denies it of course but let's hope there is a smoking gun with his fingerprints all over it.

Cummings apparently has recordings of various conversations.

It's all a bit Game of Thrones without the good guys , we just need a dragon to finish them off.

I completely agree with you analysis that there have been "a rapid increase in selfish behaviour" in the British public. I also think there has been a rapid increase in hate and division which has been encouraged by the government.

Up to now Johnson has been able to do pretty much what he likes and large parts of the media have not reported it or covered it up. For example, BBC bosses have said they won't report on the governments lies because it would "undermine the general public’s trust in democracy" so the public are only being given the Tories dishonest side of the story upon which to base its opinion on how the government is doing.

However, I sense that things are beginning to change. It might just be a temporary blip the the latest opinion polls has shown a 5% drop in the Tories popularity so exposing some of their scandals may finally be having an effect.

Boris Johnson's "Let the bodies pile high in their thousands" is particularly disgusting from a totally disgusting government, particularly for families who have lost loved ones to Covid. It's totally believable because it fits in with his flippant approach to almost everything. It's also been corroborated by 2 independent witnesses:

17. Boris Johnson Under Investigation Over Lavish Holiday To Caribbean

Boris Johnson is under investigation by the parliamentary standards watchdog over who paid for his Caribbean holiday with Carrie Symonds last year. The prime minister and his fiancee were pictured on a lavish ten-day break to the private island of Mustique over the New Year in 2020, in a trip worth £15,000. Johnson initially listed in his register of interests that Carphone Warehouse co-founder David Ross paid for the holiday from December 26 2019 to January 5 2020, shortly after the Tories were elected with an 80-seat majority in the last general election. But Ross, a Tory donor, has since said that he facilitated the visit but did not pay for it.

18. Greensill Continued

David Cameron texted ministers and government officials 62 times as he desperately lobbied for Greensill Capital to be given tax payers' money so his shares in the failed company would make him a millionaire 60 times over. He also made 11 phone calls and sent 12 emails to some of the most senior figures in the Government and the Bank of England during the four-month communication bombardment. He even turned to Michael Gove in his desperate bid to get the finance firm access to massive Covid-19 support loans.

Just think about it: while tens of thousands of people were dying of Covid-19, David Cameron and his fellow Tories saw it as an opportunity to fleece the taxpayer to line his own pockets.

19. Economic Downturn

A combination of 2 Tory disasters Brexit and their handling of the Covid crisis: Spain is the only major European economy that has suffered a sharper downturn than the UK.

20. Covid contracts VIP lane unlawful

The government’s operation of a “VIP lane” for friends of Tory ministers who were suppliers of personal protective equipment (PPE) during the coronavirus pandemic was illegal, a high court judge has ruled. Billions of pounds worth of deals were handed to associates of ministers and officials during the early months of the pandemic. A judge today ruled the operation of the "high priority lane" for Tory friends "was in breach of the obligation of equal treatment" and so was illegal.

The stench of political corruption continues in the Tory government.

22. £900,000 of taxpayers’ money was wasted on a study commissioned by Boris Johnson which found it would be too expensive to build a bridge or tunnel between Scotland and Northern Ireland.

To reach the obvious conclusion that a fixed link across the Irish Sea would be too expensive and almost impossible to build the taxpayer was billed a six figure sum.

Boris Johnson should be billed personally for the £900,000 cost of telling him the fantasy bridge between Scotland and Northern Ireland was vanity idiocy.

23. Baroness Michelle Mone and her fake PPE

Tory baroness Michelle Mone's ripped of every single British Tax payer while the Toriess aided her to do so. Early on in the pandemic, she bought PPE from China for £46 million and then sold it to the NHS for £122 million. None of it was fit for purpose. The Conservative Party gave her privileged access via their VIP lane so her contract would be prioritised over others even though she didn't have any previous experience in healthcare or PPE supply.

Now the police have raided her home as part of their investigation into this Tory corruption.

Chris Pincher has a most appropriate surname. It's just a shame his parents didn't have the foresight to name him Al...
The thing about Pincher is that he has been accused of sexual misconduct before but he was still given an important job by Johnson. It's not surprising considering that Johnson himself has been accused of groping a woman at the Conservative Party Conference but it was swept under the carpet.

Pincher is indeed an appropriate name for the groping Tory MP and Johnson also seems to be an appropriate name for the Prime Minister because it fits the latest revelation of Tory sleaze. When Johnson was Foreign Secretary and Carrie Symonds was his mistress she was caught suckling him off on the sofa in his office at the Foreign Office. This was happening while he was supposed to be working and his wife was undergoing treatment for cancer. Not content with sexual impropriety with his then girlfriend, Johnson added corruption into the mix when he attempted to appoint Symonds to a £100,000 tax payer funded government job.
