If Knots Landing managed to bring back an actor in a new role twice, why not Falcon Crest? Which actors would you have liked to see in a new role on Falcon Crest after their character's death, and what should the storyline have been like? Similar to Melissa and Samantha as a coincidental resemblance? Or twin siblings? Or should it not have been mentioned at all that the new character resembled a familiar face?

In my alternative Falcon Crest universe, Robert Foxworth would have come back, minus his beard, as Chase's long lost brother in season 8 - turns out he is also Nicole (Leslie Caron's) brother and Jacqueline was their mother. He is also an agent for the 13, and tries to murder Richard in the cliffhanger to season 8 - a far more dramatic and exciting ending to what we actually got that season.

I'm not a supporter of main cast members returning, as different characters. Look at Ana Alicia when she showed up as Melissa's doppelgänger Samantha, after the riduclous decision to kill off the Agretti vixen. That was a serious 'jump the shark'.

It was so good to see the actress return to the vines. However a more elaborate explanation should have materialised i.e. Melissa not flat lining. Instead she was taken away by uncle Frank and her ex hubby Lance, to a secure mental hospital.

The way they were.

Samantha Ross (played by core cast member Ana Alicia) is on the phone, in the FC living room to someone in Chicago. Angela wants her to testify for the prosecution in the case against Richard. Pilar goes to the living room, just as Samantha finishes her conversation; (a scene from season 8, 1988-'89):

Pilar: "So what kind of work do you do Samantha?"

Samantha: "I'm a photographer."

Pilar: "Oh! You met Richard on the job."

Samantha: "Why are you so interested?"

Pilar: "I'm just curious. Now what kind of woman would've agreed to do what Richard asked?"

Samantha: "The kind of woman who is very interested in money and something tells me you just might understand that."

Pilar raises her infamous eyebrow. This happens when she is annoyed.

Angela joins them: "Oh you see Pilar understands a great deal about money."
