Who do you think should have returned in season 9? This doesn't just mean those characters from season 8 who simply weren't seen anymore, but also original characters like Cole and Vickie, who were supposed to attend Maggie's funeral, or Julia and Christopher, who could have prayed for Angela at her bedside. Michael could have reactivated former confidants of his archenemy Richard, like Diana or Pamela, whose knowledge could have harmed Richard. Lance could have hired Greg as his lawyer when he fought Frank in court over Falcon Crest. There are many options, but which one would you have liked?

In that attic above Falcon Crest
I'd love to have Cole and Vicky1 to return and pick up where the gurgling Giobertis, Chase & Maggie, left off. (Vicky2 would never have existed).

I'd have Julia return for Season 5 thru 8 (Season 4 was just too soon) but definitely back for Season 7 and 8.

Firstly Julia that's if she had not been recurring in early 1988, to late spring 1989. I agree with @Snarky Oracle. Her nun's habit would've been in her luggage and a certain piece of lethal metal, from the glory days.

Secondly Cole. I'd have thought the Gioberti lad should have been around for at least two episodes, when Maggie tragically died. Later on in the season his annoyance over the new Falcon Crest occupants might have triggered his temper, had he been around. It's sad there wasn't anyone from the New York Gioberti family in the show, at this point.

Julia where is your nun's habit?

Cole is annoyed with Richard and Lance. Sharpe and the St. James duo have to be dealt with, sooner rather than later.

Angela and Fr. Curtis are in St. Timothy's chapel. They are sitting in a pew just in front of the altar, having one of their usual discussions; (a scene from season 7, 1987 - '88):

Angela: "Why do I keep fighting the same battles, when there is no one to win them for?"

Fr. Curtis: "What about your family? Falcon Crest is an important legacy."

Angela: "Which will be torn apart forever; if I don't bring this family together again. Father you know Julia is hiding in a convent."

Fr. Curtis: "I put her there!"

Angela: "I know! Emma lives on another planet and Lance just lives all his life mourning."

Fr. Curtis: "And Richard. What about Richard?"

Angela: "He's a lost cause. He hates me and I have done nothing to prevent it!"

Fr. Curtis: "No one is a lost cause Angela!"
