Wildfires in NewJersey

We have a bunch of wild fires burning in NJ right now. One of them is/was close to me but they have gotten it 75% contained.
one of my employees, her son, was on the highway and took a video of the fire near me. I would post it but it’s too large I imagine to be able to upload.
when I left for work yesterday the smoke smell and smoke itself was very heavy. Reminiscent of a couple of years ago when the Canadian fire smoke was blowing towards us on the wind/jet stream.
There is another somewhat near by but not as close.

I'm in the southern part of the state. We were pushing 45 days without rain, so everything has been dry and dusty. Last week, a bunch of forest fires started up in the area. One was close enough to me that I loaded up my car, just in case I had to evacuate.

We got some rain last night, but probably not enough to solve the problem.

Glad you’re safe as well! We had rain last night but it wasnt enough to be much help. Today I have alerts of fire danger again.
we need a good week and a half of rain at least. Not pouring just steady showers.

Scary situation to say the least. I have so much family up in that part of the country that are being affected by this.

Yes it rather unsettling. We rarely get fires here so when it happens it’s worrisome. As I stated we have been very dry. We had rain the other night but not enough to do anything or help with the drought.
we are still in red flag warning so I’m wondering how it will turn out. The fire that was closest to
Me was brought under control. The other one slightly further away they have gotten 30% contained. That was as of last nights 11pm news.

They are all doing well and thank you for asking! I’m hoping you are still okay up there as well?

Yes thank you! The one that wa closest to me was contained fairly quickly. The other one they had gotten I think 80% contained but then we had a day of high gusty wind and the fire jumped the containment. They initiated evacuations for this in the area. Since then they have gotten it contained again.
The good news is we are getting rain tonight supposedly. I can feel it in the air as well. It’s supposed to start tonight (Wednesday night) and rain through Thursday. A good rain too.
I’m also hearing that we may possibly get snow or a mixture of snow rain.
