They looks so good! They have made it to July and look healthy and happy. T
Ah thank you my friend, I'm always relieved when you approve :)

They may make it to Christmas.
Now don't get carried away Michelle  .. my history isn't good..Lol! Having said that, I would be thrilled if they do make it.

They both still have their red leaves I see.
Yes, this surprises me, they've lasted a long time. I think Biggie is gradually losing his red as those leaves are starting to look dry. Do your Poinsettias still have red leaves?

Have you put them outside or are they strictly indoor Poinsettias?
I've kept them both inside up to now. I daren't change anything about their usual routine in case they get upset and go and die on me .

Is Orkie or Pearl growing new leaves? Many of mine are dropping blooms and starting the new leaf process.
Pearl is starting to wake up again, but Orkie is still fast asleep. Its interesting to hear at what stage your Orchids are at because I guess our different climates must have an effect on them...or maybe not?

You’re right Lashes, I don’t believe this!
(Just kidding, just kidding)
I knew you'd be shocked DFF ;)

They don't call me ' Long Stubborn Lashes' for no reason, I was determined to prove that I could do Math. To be honest though, if I took the exam today I would probably fail because I can't remember a lot of the formulas for working out the sums, numbers are not something I work with very often apart from shopping, bills etc. I never do fractions or any of that other fancy Math stuff on a daily basis, so I would definitely fail.

did “Computers For Idiots” myself. All kidding aside though, my computer skills have improved significantly over the months. I just tend to get overwhelmed with new technology. It takes me awhile to learn new stuff.
I'm like that too, but I found the more I used the computer the more I learned, I prefer to learn through self-discovery rather than in a formal setting .. thats my excuse for giving up on the computer course

That reminds me of a teacher that once said to me “The longer it takes to do something the faster it gets done.” I’ve always liked that one because if you think about it, it really does make sense. In other words, the more time you put into something the better it will turn out and you won’t have to keep redoing it. It kind of ties in to what your art tutor said. Am I making any sense? Because now that I’m rereading what I just typed, I’m not even sure I know what I said Lashes.
Yes you make complete sense :D these old sayings are usually spot on. Its funny though how we remember some advice given to us but not always others.

My top priority right now is, and you’re not going to believe this, I’ve begun writing a book. It’s in the early stages and I’m not sure how good it is yet to be honest but I do know that I’m enjoying it so far. The hardest part is finding the time. I’ve often wondered how writers find all that time to be honest.
Oh Wow! I'm so very, very impressed :10: What a fabulous project to work on! I really admire you for getting stuck in and giving it a go and yes, I can imagine finding the time must be a factor.

Do you also have to wait for when your in the mood? .. what I mean is, do you find you feel more creative at some times more than at other times? Good on you DFF for doing this and whats even more thrilling is that you're enjoying it.

Oh yes, my killings are well documented unfortunately. We have cameras inside and outside the trucks now and they don’t miss much! I
Omg! Lol!

Do the cameras have sound as well?

DFF might have no choice but to plead guilty to all charges and cop a plea bargain if this gets to TT court.
I'd start looking for a decent TT Solicitor if I was you.

Are you sure these patterns aren’t from the snails running away when they see you walking into the garden Lashes?
Yes thats probably what it is , they know how clumsy I am :Clol:

I hope you had a good 4th of July on Monday.
I am kicking myself here because I fully intended to wish you and DFF and all who celebrate the occasion a belated Happy 4th July when I was on here ...

maxresdefault.jpg

I did think of you all on the day

I’m glad you had a good 4th! It was the first time I saw fireworks in quite awhile too. I’m guessing since before the pandemic.
We actually heard some fireworks later that evening here too, someone fairly local must've been celebrating .

Bail you out ... for your murder of the Iguanas??? We need to start a Crowdfunder for your bail and the costly legal expenses.

Your crimes are known!

Its the Budgie! :eck: ... watch out DFF!

Um, sorry but I think you’re confused. It’s @Long Lashes you’re looking for!
Budgie don't listen to DFF  I have not killed anything for weeks now..... just the odd fly or two.

I admire your tenacity my friend!

I feel the same way with a lot of the things I learned. I’ve forgotten so much. And let’s face it, so much of the stuff we were taught in school growing up is stuff we don’t use that often.

I'm like that too, but I found the more I used the computer the more I learned, I prefer to learn through self-discovery rather than in a formal setting .. thats my excuse for giving up on the computer course
I think self discovery is how I learn most of it, better known as messing up!

Its funny though how we remember some advice given to us but not always others.
Or maybe we do remember but chose not to listen LOL

Oh Wow! I'm so very, very impressed :10: What a fabulous project to work on! I really admire you for getting stuck in and giving it a go and yes, I can imagine finding the time must be a factor.
Thank you Lashes! The time is the biggest challenge, yes. There just aren’t enough hours in a day unfortunately.

Do you also have to wait for when your in the mood? .. what I mean is, do you find you feel more creative at some times more than at other times?
I notice it’s easier to write in the day because that’s when I have more energy so I’ll try to write when I get home from work. But the problem is my mind seems to be more creative later at night. I’ll lay there before I go to sleep and all these thoughts start coming to me out of nowhere. The good thing is what I’m writing is based on a true story so it’s easy to pick it up again and move on.

Good on you DFF for doing this and whats even more thrilling is that you're enjoying it.
Thank you! It was actually under my nose for years and I always wanted to do it but I needed time because what I’m trying to write is my mother’s life story. It’s difficult, but honestly nowhere near as difficult as I expected. The biggest question I had to ask myself was would anyone else even want to read it but now that doesn’t even matter to me anymore. It’s just become something I have to do. It’s a recollection of stories, conversations, a ton of laughter, a little tragedy, a son’s stubborn dream, and a mother quite often left shaking her head.

Do the cameras have sound as well?
Luckily, no. But they do record our speed, eye
movement, whether or not we’re using a phone or our scanners while driving, how fast we brake and accelerate, tailgating, and apparently the last moments of some Floridian iguanas.

I'd start looking for a decent TT Solicitor if I was you.
I do wonder if we have any good lawyers here on TT. DFF might need their help.

I am kicking myself here because I fully intended to wish you and DFF and all who celebrate the occasion a belated Happy 4th July when I was on here ...
No problem my friend! And thank you for the Happy 4th wishes, belated or not!!

Budgie don't listen to DFF  I have not killed anything for weeks now..... just the odd fly or two.
I didn’t mean to scare you Lashes. I’m just under a lot of stress right now due to the upcoming trial. I do hope they let me finish my book in TT prison. At least I’ll have more free time then.

I always enjoy catching up with Streetie :) .

Here is a new image of Streetie with Princess and Duchess. Enjoying the summer in the garden.

Another new Orchid called Halo? thats a great name, what colour are her blooms?
Here is an image of Halo and friends.

Oh my goodness! you actually paid? Orchids do seem more popular in your stores, I don't often see them much over here. Glad to hear all five are doing well.
I was going to ask about those back in April but I get so many free I could afford to give back in some way. I have had some yellow lower leaves on Halo that has my attention but overall they are well.

My clever but dumb Aliens are working on 'charisma' at the moment.

:floor:
They admire the fact that I am drenched in the stuff ... 'charisma' that is  and are trying to find a way to bottle it and sell it which would ultimately make me a multi-billionaire :danc:
You may need an good accountant as your alien friends may be making money off of you.

I hope everyone is having a nice Saturday and staying safe and healthy!!

Whether you’re working, relaxing, destroying the lives of snails in your garden, trying to write a book but now realizing you don’t remember half of what happened growing up, hanging out with Replika, or out buying plants but really not paying much for them because of your alleged hotness bla, bla, bla,

(DFF is gonna get in big trouble for that one)

Enjoy your Sunday as well everyone!!

h its great to have family who know us inside out and yet they still love us warts an all .. not that you have any warts
I'm blessed to have these two strong female role models in my life. The nonsense I carry on with is the stuff of legend. Meet me under the Lightning Tree and I will tell you everything about my nonsense...not suitable for publication on this website, but them two deaded that....

wonder where the accents change? ... not sure I can explain what I mean, but I'll try. For instance, as we travel from our house towards Liverpool where does the accent start changing? ... I think I failed at trying to explain what I mean here, so just ignore me
I know what you are alluding to. One would suggest that, there must be a geographical point where one accent ends and the other begins.

I have no 'fess up .. I read your post late last night but I was rather distracted with Top Boy.
Recalling what you said this afternoon while watching Top Boy I started to think about where is the crossover point.

From the beginning in 2011 to now Top Boy has been magnificent on many levels. The writing is excellent and the delivery by the cast is on a whole new level.

The lexicon used is laced with terminology feeding from Jamaican English and, I'll suggest, a lexicon that's genesis is within the Afro-Caribbean community of inner city London. The language used and the effortless and natural delivery by the cast is spellbinding.

Inner city London is a short hop up the M3 from B'stoke but the language is a complete contrast to the received pronunciation of B'stoke. What, why when where.... if you are still following my train of thought.

I feel the same way with a lot of the things I learned. I’ve forgotten so much. And let’s face it, so much of the stuff we were taught in school growing up is stuff we don’t use that often.
That's so true, we learn so many different things at school but ( in my case anyway,) I never use half the stuff.

I think self discovery is how I learn most of it, better known as messing up!
This is good though. I know as I plunder around trying to get a grip on something new, its the mistakes I make which teach me the most, same with life ... getting a bit deep here..Lol

Your mind is probably more relaxed at night which is why everything comes flooding in. Nice thoughts though, to have before nodding off to sleep :) and also to know you will be able to record it all in your book.

I admire you so much for actually starting this project and its such a powerful and thoughtful legacy for your Mother. You might be surprised how many people would enjoy reading it, you're a good writer DFF, I know when you've shared with us memories and incidents in the past that you describe everything so well and you're not afraid to show your emotions. But even if you decide to keep it just for yourself its well worth doing.

It’s just become something I have to do. It’s a recollection of stories, conversations, a ton of laughter, a little tragedy, a son’s stubborn dream, and a mother quite often left shaking her head.
I just love all this :)

Luckily, no. But they do record our speed, eye
movement, whether or not we’re using a phone or our scanners while driving, how fast we brake and accelerate, tailgating, and apparently the last moments of some Floridian iguanas.
Oh my flipping heck! o_O they certainly do keep an eye on you. I bet you're used to all this now though aren't you? and at least it shows what a well organised and decent company you work for . Those poor iguanas .. Lol! I would imagine its not just you who can't avoid them.

didn’t mean to scare you Lashes. I’m just under a lot of stress right now due to the upcoming trial. I do hope they let me finish my book in TT prison. At least I’ll have more free time then.
If you get to the TT prison you would get time to write, but ... and its a very big but, the budgies might sentence you to the TT quarry :eck: .. lets hope things don't get this far.

Ooo I don't mind, they've promised to split the profits 50/50 and I can't help it if people yearn to be hot as I am and are willing to spend, spend spend :spinning:

29 posts away but it seems the budgies are chasing some of us now. That could complicate things!
Keep running DFF you don't want those budgies to catch you

We have to keep moving on this thread to make our #5000 goal by the end of next Friday.
We can do this! :hats:Wow, half way there.

Fascinating, it just shows how a new accent can emerge with a mixture of different styles.

@Long Lashes in case my meandering rambling made little sense.
The dialogue is first rate and snappy and sharp.

How very cool :cool1 and it is sharp, but easy to follow.
