They're so busy and always working on either building-up the nest in readiness for new babies or with on going repairs.

Its incredible when you realise that every stick has to be flown in by them.

I loved this video, thank you Sexmas .

Its fascinating seeing one of them so close-up, he/she looks so perfect, not a feather out of place. I wonder what they think of the camera? they must notice it as those eagle eyes are everywhere.

I agree. I've often looked on in wonderment, at the images of their nests, fascinated by how they are constructed.

Thank you Michelle , I love watching these wonderful eagles.

They are very together as are Guy and Lipstick .. what I mean is, that when they don't have fluffy babies and need to go hunting for food they stick together and aren't apart for long.



I've noticed that they often imitate each others body language as well ...

I don't know how they can see where they're going in the dark mornings?




Guy takes his responsibilities and building work very seriously ..

And I'm thrilled to see how Lipstick still continues with her baton twirling hobby ...

Over on the other nest we have Liberty and Freedom with very messy hair I think it must've been a windy day.

I must say, both sets of our eagles have been getting a little bit ... shall we say 'fruity' , recently. In other words they've been busy trying to make some eggs

Recently Lipstick has had spells of sitting on the nest. Its a bit early so I don't think they have any eggs yet, she must just be practicing ..

Breaking News! ​

Lipstick and Guy have an egg :hats:


and here's the first egg-roll by Lipstick...

The egg must be very deep in the nest because I can't see it.




Here's a clearer image of that beautiful first egg ....

and here's the mum-to-be a few minutes ago. Like our friends in the US our eagles are 5 hours behind UK time ..

It will have been a long night for her on that nest. I think she's waiting for Guy to bring her some breakfast and then give her a break to go and powder her nose


I'm hoping these two don't have four eggs like last year because sadly that didn't work out for tiny #4. Two eggs would be nice or even three.

I bring disappointing news.

Sadly, Lipstick and Guy's egg is no more .. I'm not sure what happened, it might have been cracked or was maybe just not viable?

Hopefully they will have a chance with some more eggs. I've noticed Lipstick hanging around the nest far more than usual so perhaps she is ready for laying more?


Here she was yesterday morning, she's been staying overnight at the nest ..

Meanwhile over with Liberty and Freedom ... their web-cam has been off air for long periods which has been frustrating because I always think I'm missing something and then when the camera is working again they both disappear and just leave me with an empty nest to look at


Although, the other day I did catch a rare two headed eagle visiting the nest...

Yes it is and I must admit I get carried away and forget that anything can happen.

Once Lipstick had that egg I was so excited and (even after watching these eagles for a long time) it never occurred to me that all might not go well. Nature has a way of dispensing with anything which isn't perfect without a second thought.

Hopefully better days to follow.

Lipstick and Guy have a second egg. Here she is just now sunning herself, although it looks windy cold ..

This was Guy taking a turn at egg-sitting earlier..

notice those Starlings sitting on the right below the nest. ^^ .as you will see from this short clip, Guy was not amused ..

"Shoooo! be off with you!"






Nothing much is happening over in Liberty and Freedoms nest yet, apart from frequent visits by them to move the furniture (sticks) around the nest, but if I remember correctly these two tend to be a week or so behind Guy and Lipstick.

Nature has a way of dispensing with anything which isn't perfect without a second thought.

I've heard it referred to as "checks and balances". I believe that it's ultimately important (for want of a better word), but can appear cruel.

That said,... hip hip hooray for the second egg!

Lipstick and Guy are taking great care of their eggs.

I'm not 100% sure but I think Lipstick laid 4 eggs in all with the first egg not surviving. Its hard to tell exactly how many because we are not getting a good look at the eggs.

^^ I can see two eggs, although the nest is deep and hides the exact number.




Guy is very attentive, he's back and forth to the nest every few hours to let Lipstick have a comfort break and bring in a steady supply of food for her.

Here is Guy popping in to say good morning before taking over from Lipstick to sit on the eggs ..

^^ he seems to sleep in a nearby tree keeping a protective watch on Lipstick and the nest.

No sign of any eggs yet with Liberty and Freedom. They keep dropping back to the nest for brief visits, although they're not sleeping there.



Here they are this morning ..

"one, two, three and lift!"



Poor Liberty appears to have an injury, she has been holding her left foot up ..

"give us a kiss darlin'"


I'm still hoping Liberty is able to produce some eggs this season ray:

I'm still trying to figure out how many eggs they have and when they are expected to hatch.
