Biden Pardons Own Son Despite Repeatedly Saying He Wouldn’t

As distant family member pardons go, Donald Trump had previously pardoned son-in-law Jared Kushner’s father (whom he has just appointed Ambassador to France) and Bill Clinton of course infamously set the original precedent back in 2001 by pardoning his half-brother Roger.

But this I believe sets a brand new precedent as no other President had previously attempted to pardon their own child. All that on top of the DOJ and the FBI already dragging their feet on more serious charges or corruption and bribery, thus allowing for statute of limitations to expire.

Not to mention legacy media and the previous Twitter management bending over backwards to kill any reports of Hunter Biden’s criminal conduct.

A CBS insider recently claimed the network had already verified the Hunter Biden laptop story when 60 Minutes’ Leslie Stahl infamously insisted to the contrary in her 2020 interview with Trump. The CBS staff were essentially told to shut it down. Nothing to see here.

And yet everyone knows the very same legacy media would be melting down and screaming into space while convulsing on the floor and projectile-vomiting foam if, hypothetically, Trump pardoned Don Jr. Which is what I assume Fox News will be doing today.

Oh, I know. Maybe it will keep Trump's DOJ from obsessing over Hunter once his next term begins.

Is it right? No, but none of this ever is... Trump should've bartered for leniency for himself in exchange for taking it easy on Hunter -- but perhaps that's the point of the pardon. Avoiding deals with The Donald. I dunno.

Yes, of course — taking leverage away from Trump. He could have used the promise (or threat, if you will) of a Hunter Biden pardon to extract personal or political concessions. By issuing the pardon now, Biden neutralizes this potential strategy, eliminating the chance for Trump to capitalize on Hunter’s legal troubles.

Today’s montage of Karine Jean-Pierre in various outfits repeatedly insisting from her podium with a definitive “No! It’s not happening and it will never happen!” served with a generous side of “How many times do I have to answer this question?” type of eye-rolling, annoyance and indignation is hilarious, though.

Yup, he lied to the country. He never had any intention of ever letting sonny boy spend one day in jail and thought he was going to get away with letting Kamala do the dirty work of the pardon for him. He set the parameters of the pardon back to 2014 to cover sonny boy for anything that we don't even know about. The best part of it is that he basically gave the finger to the Democrats and this will come back to bite them in 2026 and 2028.

Meh, being openly corrupt and crooked is how you win elections now.
Exactly this. Trump lied his way to the White House, Trump plans to pardon insurrectionists, Trump promised to use the Dept. of Justice to wage a personal vendetta against the Biden family. Trump set the rules that every has to play by now.

The Dems aimed the justice system at Trump, but it's apparently only a "personal vendetta" when Trump vows to do the same to Biden. Some people still pretend that political corruption began with Trump, and that "he set the rules." In reality, politics has always been about opportunists putting their own interests above the country's.

This isn't my opinion, it's what Trump himself promised to do. The rapist that your country elected, said he would instruct the Department of Justice to go after the Biden family. In contrast, Biden stayed out of the Trump prosecutions and declined to give an opinion on them, saying it was up to the prosecutors. I know you want to defend Trump but there is no equivalence in how they both have acted.

Biden initially said he had faith in the justice system but how can anyone say that now Trump has promised to use it to get retribution. When circumstances change, so do your decisions, rightly or wrongly.

Oh yes, I care about "defending Trump" so much that I also acknowledge his lawlessness and corruption.

Biden is a craven war monger, and he and Hunter are linked to influence peddling schemes. Thus, it's easy for me to draw and equivalence between Biden and Trump.

Trump may very well have a personal vendetta, but I believe the Biden's are as guilty of the charges against them as Trump was. Ultimately, the Dems set the precedent of prosecuting one's political enemies. That's not a "defense of Trump," nor am I saying he's innocent. However, the previous presidents certainly got away with much worse.

Well, I think Trump was innocent of some of the charges. Like when I saw his rape accuser's reaction in the media the day she won the first case. (Like when I saw William Kennedy's Smith's rape accuser on the stand 33 years ago, after "assuming" she'd been telling the truth for 6 months prior).

That said, if Biden is going to pardon his own son, he should pardon the sea of marijuana possessors who are sitting in prison to rot for no reason at all.

It's certainly possible. I'm always on the fence anyway when it comes to rape allegations that are made decades later because they're much more difficult to prove.

Trump's also a polarizing public figure, and I imagine it would be hard for any jury to be completely impartial when deciding his guilt or innocence.

That said, if Biden is going to pardon his own son, he should pardon the sea of marijuana possessors who are sitting in prison to rot for no reason at all.
Yes, especially since both his crime bill and his VP put them there. But then these holier than thou politicians usually have a different set of standards for their family.

Yes, Newt Gingrich led the impeachment charge against Clinton for sex with a staffer....all the while he was actively in an extra marital affair with his own staff member.

People whine about Trump being unfairly targeted by the DOJ, but I'd argue he's more worthy of doing jail time than Martha Stewart was.

Why is that 'reality' couple...the Chrisley's or whomever, doing very lengthy prison terms for many of the same crimes the Trump family has been getting away with for their entire lives if Trump is unfairly persecuted?

Do you think Hunter Biden's potential crimes, really top Jared and Ivanka receiving a billion dollars from Saudi Arabia after Trump played stupid about American Kashoggi's brutal dismemberment by Saudi thugs???

Do you think Biden has received more business profit than Trump who stands to gain billions from Saudi owned LIV golf events at his golf clubs and hotels during his Presidency? To say nothing of countless other conflict of interest events he's profitting from while refusing to step down from his businesses while President.

Ovular argumentation. No one here is defending Trump. We don't even like him.
