All right then. I had planned to be the last one to vote because of my excellent detective work which led to the most shocking revelation in the history of the nominations thread. And I didn't want anyone to jump on my bandwagon. After spending hours and hours studying the nominations, members profiles and various posts in other forums, I was still none the wiser. The only relevant evidence was that conversation between Ome, Mel and me in the suggestions thread. I suggested French songs and then Mel suggested all non-English languages. But like I've said in a previous post, most (if not all) of us have read that conversation so Mel wasn't necessarily my #1 culprit. I never suspected Ome, but then he said he was going to skip the nominations, only to come up with a fab list the day after that - and then I thought, was that an intentional misleading clue? Or am I overthinking this? What is it that I'm not seeing? And then suddenly - BAM! There was my answer. @Long Lashes' list! Now we all know that LL is one of our greatest music lovers, but I remember that she mentioned that she wasn't very familiar with foreign language songs (and I assume those songs never featured heavily in the UK charts, maybe that has something to do with it, but that's another discussion altogether). However, she must have known that we were going to do this theme at some point, and what better way to avoid it than by simply not being online for a certain period (i.e. holidays). And that's why I think she suggested the theme and the time when all this should take place. I'm sure Ome was happy to oblige because he can never resist a good scheme:D
