EastEnders and Top Gear will go back into production in June, but the stars will be socially distanced and will have to do their own hair and make-up.

Virtually all filming has been on hold since the lockdown began in March.

The BBC said it would use "strictly limited" crews and stick to government guidelines when it resumes.

BBC director of content Charlotte Moore said: "We're also exploring ways to re-start filming on more dramas and other major BBC shows as soon as possible."

Writing in The Telegraph, she said the broadcaster wanted to "help fire up the engines of British TV production - safely and sensibly".

Hollyoaks resumes production in early June. They don’t run out of previously completed episodes until at the end of July, so they may not go off air after all. But they are already running Hollyoaks Favourites in the Wednesday to Friday slots on E4. In the event, they run out of episodes, Hollyoaks Favourites will increase to five times a week, with newly filmed introductions with the cast and former cast.

Hollyoaks resumes filming on July 13th, going off air at the end of July but filling the slot with Hollyoaks Favourites. Which has allowed us to relive classic episodes and lots of deaths. New episodes to begin in September at the rate of four a week and getting back to five episodes a week from next year. Although this might be affected because they are currently looking into the allegations made by departing cast member Rachel Adedeji regarding racial abuse she says she received while she was at Hollyoaks and some cast members past and present have supported her claims. However cast member Lysette Anthony quit Twitter after former cast member Charlie Clapham shared Lysette’s private tweets, where she referred to the matter as traitors who might result in her having no job to return to. Rachel has in response called Lysette ‘actual trash’. There are reports suggesting that some cast members are threatening to quit unless this is resolved. And cast member Chelsee Healey was caught breaking lockdown rulings for a second time, this time attending an illegal quarantine rave where 4000 attended.

"Secrets of the Square" - I really enjoyed that, I would have preferred a new episode but this was the next best thing. Danny and Kellie have real chemistry. Stacey Dooley is a great fit for this series.

We have the Den and Ang first two hander, which had never been done before, back to 1986 this evening.

P.S I enjoyed the Secrets From The Square more than the Emmerdale lockdown episode with Chas and Dave Paddy.

Another enjoyable "Secrets from the Square." James and Davood have real chemistry and seem good friends off set. Some good clips, I loved the scene in the chippy. Some good acting from both Kush and Martin. Imo Davood is under used as a character. I miss shabnam. My only niggle was they never showed the moving scenes with Shabnam and Kush when she lost the baby. Ballum next week.
