Obviously, the 1990s was the last good decade of the show, despite it being hit and miss going into the next decade. Favourite/Best moments of the 1990s:- 1990 - Ken and Mike fighting, where Jim tried to break it up. 1992 - Jim confronting Alec Gilroy in the pub. 1993/1994 - IIRC Jim/Liz running that alternative pub? it was at least 1993 or 1994? 1995 - Arrival of Roy Cropper 1996 - Jim/Liz stormy marriage 1997 - Jim/Fiona/Alan 1997 - Mike/Alma/Don Brennan storyline 1998 - Arrival of Hayley (who later became Roy Cropper's wife) 1998 - Deirdre/Jon Lindsay storyline 1998 - Roy Cropper throwing the drink in Mike's face for being too cocky and badmouthing Hayley 1999 - Roy and Hayley marriage 1999 - Jim and Gwen (it went on until 2000, where Gwen almost succeeded in conning Jim of his money, almost similar to Deirdre/Jon Lindsay) 1997-1999 had Kevin/Sally splitting up and going around in circles even 10 years after, like Karl/Susan in Neighbours, at least Karl/Susan were more interesting as characters though. On another note, the 1990s decade of Coronation street was known for being the time when Coronation street was becoming too comedy driven and continued that way into the present day. Reg/Maureen with the waterbed was probably the start of it, Fred Elliott "I SAY" Fred Elliott and his butcher uncle/son. Also, the way the writers had to add "so it is/should/wouldn't/(insert alternative word) etc" to Jim's character, where i'm still taking time to watch episodes from 1989/1990 until 1995 to work out how least often Jim said it and why it was allowed to get that way, and don't even get me started on The Battersbys!
