I'm not a big fan of Britney but watched this documentary out of interest after hearing so many people talking about it and I was actually quite shocked by what I heard and saw.

I won't give any spoilers but 2 things grabbed me with it. 1) At what point do the paps and media start taking responsibility for their actions & 2) Why in god's name are cases like this still being upheld by judges and courts?

It was a hugely eye opening documentary for me and I can now see why so many thing I thought I knew about Britney were completely moulded by the paps and media.

Only Michael Moor stood up for her, everyone else just wanted a piece of the pie.

Good luck to everyone involved in the #FreeBritney movement, I sincerely hope we see a change in her circumstances, and soon.

Only if and when the public stop buying trash magazines and stop getting sucked into click bait. Until the broader community takes some personal responsibility the media and paparazzi will continue to fulfil our appetites. One good thing which has stemmed from Covid-19 is celebrity has been pushed into the background. No award shows, no exotic holidays. It might be still happening but I'm just not seeing it as much.

I watched the documentary a few nights ago, despite having only mild fondness for Britney. In general, I'm wary of the tendency of viewing the past through the past through the smug lens of the present, but it was hard to look at the way Britney -- and by extension, so many other [mostly female] celebrities -- was treated and not be aghast. Not entirely surprising, but the so-called respectable media was just as gross as the tabloids and paparazzi.

I’m going to watch this when it’s available in the UK. I remember poor Britney’s mental health breakdown and how the media almost revelled in it at the time. It was a real shame.

I think Madonna has been treated inexplicably awful by the media for much of her career too, but two things differentiate her from Britney. For one, Madonna seemed able to withstand it; for another, she's always been a provocateur, so much of the media reaction was based on provocation. Britney, in comparison, has always seemed like a passive victim of insidious forces.

I just watched this documentary today. I can understand why Britney got a temporary conservatorship since she obviously had a breakdown when she shaved off her hair. I saw it as a cry for help. She needed help then and she got it and she pulled herself together. But when she got better it made no sense for the conservatorship to continue. Watching the documentary it seems like her father has treated her like a minor for years and made a lot of money out of her career.

Another thing that surprised me about the documentary was the clip of young Britney singing at the age of 10. What a voice!
Since she has relied so much on her dancing and stage show over the years the focus has not been on her singing. It's a bit of a shame as she has some real talent.

Also I agree that the way the paparazzi were treating her was horrible.

I just watched it last night and I came away from it feeling very sympathetic towards her. I know she’s made her mistakes but it’s also pretty obvious that not everything that happened to her was entirely her fault either. I felt very sorry for her.

i don't mind Britney spears i never have some of her music i even like i admit that weather what she does in her life it really doesn't matter to me as i don't really care because it's not my life i don't have to live it. plus it's not a surprise at all that the media gets stuff wrong. with the Mention of Madonna i like her music too and she's yeah for some things gotten a lot of flack for but for some of it to be honest let's face it she lived on it and it kept her in the public eye. she really hasn't done as many albums as it feels like. when Britney shaved her head the 1st thing i thought was damn that girl has some issues and isn't dealing with it at all.

well at some point she did cause she's not in the media for doing that type of stuff anymore is she?
