My mother and my brother only have a high school education and struggle to keep body and soul together. Yet, neither would ever vote Republican in a million years and certainly not for Trump. There's simply no excuse for blithering idiocy.
I still have to question how smart it is to run a campaign based on empty platitudes, failed policies, and neglecting the three swing states needed to win.
So failing to make Bernie the Democratic nominee justifies voting for the antichrist?
It's a matter of offering the people what they want. There are people who will vote for a vile piece of crap as long as he also promises to better their life.
Once Hillary adopted some of Bernie's policies at the convention, she could have campaigned hard on them. She could have went to the rust belt and said her previous support of TPP was a mistake. She lost the electoral college by a little over 77,000 votes, but I believe she could have won them over if she fought harder for the policies they care about. Building a campaign around how awful Trump is wasn't going to cut it.
The Affordable Care Act was hardly "a piece of legislation," although I do agree that one of the Democrats' downfalls has always been their unwillingness to behave in the same thuggish manner as the Republicans.
It's not thuggish if you have the votes. The Affordable Care Act had previously been the Republican plan supported by Nixon and Mitt Romney. That's what compromising with Republicans looks like.
But are Republicans ever willing to compromise with Democrats? Considering 24 million people are about to be without health care coverage, I'm going to say no.
Yes, and risked an outcome even worse than what ended up happening in the 2010 midterm elections anyway: loss of 6 seats in the Senate and 63 seats and control of the House.
They probably have a better memory of what happened to Congressional Democrats in the 2010 and 2014 midterm elections. You can't govern from left, right, or center when you're voted out of office.
If leftist policies are so unpopular, why did Hillary end up adopting some of Bernie's proposals? Why did Cory Booker move to the left on the importation of Canadian prescription drugs?
Is it possible that millions of uninsured Americans and many more who struggled to afford their premiums are why Congressional Democrats lost?
