It would need good writers and good actors cast in the roles. As with any reboot it will inevitably get compared with the original show. In the case of Dallas, David Jacobs should be attached as an Executive Consultant. The new cast would have big shoes to fill but is it possible to strike lightning with the same show twice? Well the BBC managed it with Doctor Who three times although despite the 1996 Doctor Who film being a hit in the UK it wasn't in the USA. It returned to great acclaim as a series in 2005. I would have high hopes for Dallas to be a hit if it was produced with respect for the original source material, unlike the TNT Cyntax version.
