I'm blessed to have these two strong female role models in my life. The nonsense I carry on with is the stuff of legend. Meet me under the Lightning Tree and I will tell you everything about my nonsense...not suitable for publication on this website, but them two deaded that.... I know what you are alluding to. One would suggest that, there must be a geographical point where one accent ends and the other begins. I have no 'fess up .. I read your post late last night but I was rather distracted with Top Boy. Recalling what you said this afternoon while watching Top Boy I started to think about where is the crossover point. From the beginning in 2011 to now Top Boy has been magnificent on many levels. The writing is excellent and the delivery by the cast is on a whole new level. The lexicon used is laced with terminology feeding from Jamaican English and, I'll suggest, a lexicon that's genesis is within the Afro-Caribbean community of inner city London. The language used and the effortless and natural delivery by the cast is spellbinding. Inner city London is a short hop up the M3 from B'stoke but the language is a complete contrast to the received pronunciation of B'stoke. What, why when where.... if you are still following my train of thought.
