Thank you Lashes! And the feeling is quite mutual. I’m sure everyone here agrees that you’re very likable as well. Well, I try to make it amusing but sometimes I notice sarcasm can backfire. DFF messed up bad the other day. Someone I work with has a very distinct high pitched laugh and I made the mistake of impersonating it in a sarcastic way. She took me aside and asked me not to do it again as she doesn’t like anyone making fun of her laugh. I apologized of course and I promised her it would never happen again and I meant no offense. Well, I must’ve forgotten that conversation because about a week later I hear that high pitched laugh across the station and I mimicked it again. You know, when you do something a second time after you’re told not to it gets very quiet Lashes! Let’s just say that was almost it for DFF. Luckily mercy was shown and all was forgiven eventually as I reminded her that I’m actually quite harmless. That and there’s really no point in continuing to kick me when I’m already laying on the ground. I think the problem with sarcasm is it can be taken the wrong way very easily. I’m sure you’re never cruel and I try not to be either but sometimes I notice it ends up backfiring. I try to explain that it’s who I am and they’re out of luck cause I can’t change now. But I usually say that part sarcastically also, of course, so there’s the problem. Days??? This is quite interesting because Hulk-outs were usually over by the next commercial break. I must say you do take this to a whole other level Lashes! We have to keep you calm. I do like it over there cause it’s something different. I love reading the Dallas threads but how many times can we discuss the arrival of @Michelle Stevens ruining the show? (Just kidding Michelle, just kidding) Thank you! I agree that a lot of how we say things and what we really mean can get lost in typing. Quite often I do worry about how the things I type are going to come across. But even without the emojis I would never misconstrue anything you type. I know being offensive is the furthest thing from your mind but of course with the people we’re not familiar with as much the emojis serve a purpose. Or you can do what I did above when I said “just kidding Michelle, just kidding,” in case you are expecting some trouble later when they do read it. I think it’s great that she gave it a shot. I’d give anything to be able to do that. I would imagine it’s gotta be difficult to constantly come up with new material. A friend of mine at work does stand up on the side and he’s always telling me how it’s a constant struggle. It’s very competitive also. He gets a lot of his material from work, believe it or not. He’s used most of us in his act at some point. I would usually get lucky and get shown some pity for some reason and didn’t have to stay. I learned early on that apologizing profusely helped. That and a lot of begging. Let’s see, we need 47 more posts in about 18 days? I think we’re okay.
