It just takes a little practice and research. I have learned by my failures. Most plant care is when to water, how much and light requirements. They need their food (fertilizer) from time to time. Try an easy plant for starters. I discovered Streetie in front of a neighboring storefront in the summer of 2020. I assume Streetie was from the Christmas of 2019. She was usually unwatered in the heat of the summer and I inquired about watering her to the elderly shop owner. I would water her throughout the summer and autumn but it seemed the owner didn't care at all for her. On 28 October 2020 there was a freeze warning and I decided Streetie wasn't going to be able to survive the night so I "liberated" her as the previous owner had basically abandoned her to her fate. I took her in and she survived quite well that Winter. That Spring (2021) she was sent to my Mother's garden. There she did very well and grew quite a bit. I did the same in 2022 and this year as well. This past year I have noticed her health has been in decline but she still holds on. I just consider myself lucky every day I have with her. So many of my plants has stories such as this. Most as unwanted plants that didn't sell at a store that I took in. People rescue dogs, cats, even horses, I rescue plants.
