Message: <blockquote data-quote="Ked" data-source="post: 131353" data-attributes="member: 54">Episode 30 - "Last Day of Childhood" - (The 4th of July) It seems the whole town is celebrating; while Allison is preparing a picnic for herself and Norman, Nellie Cross reveals that Evelyn Page breast-fed Norman till he was 4 years old, and says a number of other unpleasant things; Allison is so shocked, disgusted, and insulted for Norman that she says some terrible things to Nellie, including calling her crazy, before storming out; Nellie then hallucinates that Lucas has come back in the form of an angel; she follows him up to Allison's bedroom and sees him floating outside the window, and he begs her to come with him;meanwhile, Constance, attending the festivities, finds herself flanked by both Michael Rossi and Tomas Kyros, who playfully fight one another for her attention the whole day; Constance is humiliated - yet a small part of her enjoys it; Allison and Norman go on their picnic and swim while wearing swimsuits; at the same time, Rodney and Betty, also on their own picnic, go skinny-dipping; Charles Partridge, who was out fishing, sees them, but doesn't get a good look at their faces; he comes home and laughingly mentions this to Marion, who earlier had seen Allison and Norman ride their bikes towards the lake; she jumps to the conclusion that it was them, and quickly spreads the news all over town;when Constance arrives home in the evening, she has to break up a pretend fight between Michael and Tomas because her neighbor, Anita Titus, keeps on peeking out her window; then Constance answers the phone, and she hears Marion tell her that Allison and Norman Page were swimming in the nude; Constance freaks out, phones Evelyn Page and reveals the news to her; within seconds Evelyn races over, and the two hysterical mothers start screaming accusations at one other - Evelyn even going so far as to say Allison takes just after her mother (throwing a judgmental glance at Michael and Tomas), which causes Constance to roar, "You bitch!" before hurling herself at the other woman; now Michael and Tomas have to break up a real fight;just as they are parted (Michael holding onto Constance while Tomas holds onto Evelyn), Allison walks in; Constance breaks free and starts demanding answers from her confused daughter; Evelyn, finding out that Norman was on his way home, rushes to the door and starts screaming her son's name until he races inside; both mothers again start making wild accusations, with Constance declaring that she's going to have Michael examine Allison tomorrow, and if she's pregnant, then she, Constance, will have Norman arrested for rape; Evelyn won't hear of that, and calls this place a whorehouse; Constance roars for the Pages to get out of her house;Allison says she's never been so embarrassed - and Constance slaps her daughter full in the face, causing Allison to fall onto the couch; Constance then roars, "You bastard!" before going on a tirade about how Allison is just like her father - before Allison gets up and slaps her mother right back, with a roar of her own, "Don't you talk about my father like that!" before both Connie and Allison get into a physical fight that once again must be broken up by Michael and Tomas - this time its Tomas who holds onto Constance, who finally reveals that she had never married Allison's father, because he already had a wife; Allison refuses to believe it; she grabs her father's portrait off the mantel and races upstairs - only to start screaming in terror; the three adults rush upstairs to discover that Nellie Cross has hung herself in Allison's closet, using the cord of Allison's silk bathrobe; as the camera fades out, we hear Joey Cross calling from down below, "Mrs. MacKenzie? Is Ma here?"</blockquote>
