I heard this news on the radio yesterday, a very sad loss but a long and well lived life.
He was probably one of the last stars from the golden age of Hollywood. Glynis Johns who started her film career in the 1930s is still alive, as is Angela Lansbury who made her first film in the 1940s and so is Eva Marie Saint, although her film career didn't start until the 1950s.
