You would be forgiven for believing this headline was described a situation in a Third World country or perhaps in a war zone but it is in fact what is happening today in the UK National Health Service. The UK is the fifth largest economy in the world and we refuse to pay for adequate health care for people when they are sick.

Patients 'dying in hospital corridors'

We are a country that values tax cuts over saving people's lives and our government priority is funding tax cuts for the rich instead of putting that money into the NHS.

Our government reduced the top rate of income tax from 50p to 45p in 2013 giving people earning over a million pounds a year alone on average £554,000 each. Those tax cuts cost the British taxpayer £8.6bn over those five years which is more than the amount of money NHS managers have been asking for.

Does that make you proud to be British?
