So sad. She was a brilliant singer. Her albums The Lion and the Cobra and I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got are phenomenal.

I've been thinking about Sinead a lot yesterday and today, particularly this song. The lyrics are important not just for the Irish, but all marginalized and oppressed people and those who want to understand the pernicious roots of abused people.

Sinead O'Connor death has really touched me. When Tina Turner passed I felt it deeply as well. They both were so vibrant and full of passion it almost seemed as if they were beyond Death's icy grasp.
Sinead's death seems!even less natural because Tina lived much longer and I had the impression from her documentary she was prepared to move on to the next phase of existence. Sinead was too young and seemed more troubled. Even though I didn't know her personally, I feel this haunting sense that I could have done something or reached out to her if I had known her time was coming. Odd feeling.
