The sex toy range brings fresh meaning to the grocer's 'Try something new today' tagline
Sainsbury’s has unveiled a range of sex toys that will be sold in stores nationwide in a move that lives up to the grocer’s ‘Try something new today’ tagline. Shoppers popping in for milk and bread might end up heading home with something altogether saucier in their bags now the supermarket has introduced three vibrators to its stores.
Getting shoppers buzzing
Customers can choose from three vibrators – a “rose gold bullet” (£8.00), “rose blush bullet” (£12.00) and the “aura silver vibrator and massager” (£15.00). The rose gold bullet is 8cm in length and has seven speeds, while the rose blush bullet is 9cm and boasts 10 speeds. The two “bullet” vibrators will be stocked at all 486 UK Sainsbury’s stores by 4 November, with some branches beginning to sell the products from yesterday. The massager device will be available at most stores.
Customer satisfaction
Sainsbury’s said it would monitor sales over the next six months and, should the vibrators perform to their satisfaction, it will expand its sex toy collection next year. The supermarket said it decided to launch the range after analysing data regarding customer preferences collated in its Living Well Index surveys. “Sex life satisfaction has a significant impact on an individual’s sense of wellbeing and, alongside sleep, is one of the strongest indicators of how well a person is living,” the company said in a statement. “With one in three Brits reporting they are not satisfied between the sheets, Sainsbury’s is rising to the occasion with a new range of vibrators to help customers reinvigorate their sex lives and boost the nations’ sense of wellbeing,” it added.
