Have we got a discussion going already on Scotty Bowers? If so, we can disregard this one, but I couldn't seem to find one floating around out there already.

Scotty Bowers ran a gas station in Hollywood, and he allegedly set-up many homosexual and bisexual liaisons for many well-known celebrities, directors, writers, and so forth. It was active from 1945 to 1980.

Do you believe his stories?

Gore Vidal supposedly claimed that Scotty never lies. But I find it hard to believe he arranged lesbian hook-ups for Katharine Hepburn at local gas stations.

I am divided on what I do and don't believe about Bowers. Mostly, though, a lean toward a no.

I think there’s probably some truth to it but like everything else I would assume a lot of it is exaggerated. These stories, myths, legends, etc. do tend to take on a life of their own and that only gets magnified over the years. I’m skeptical.

You have a point with this. Stories tend to be fabricated more as the years twinkle by. They become legends and, in some cases, a part of people's life even if they're inaccurate.
