Message: <blockquote data-quote="Daniel Avery" data-source="post: 366322" data-attributes="member: 27">I was very saddened to hear of her passing.  Gretchen Kraus was one of the best sitcom characters ever.  Soap's "The Evil Ingrid Svenson" (as the voice-over always called her) was hilariously mean and over-the-top the way a Soap villain ought to be, and from the name of the character, Susan Harris obviously wrote the character with Inga in mind.  She had a memorable guest-starring role as Holly, Rose's bitchy sister on The Golden Girls.  It wasn't until later that I realized Holly somehow managed to break the "curse" of having grown up in St. Olaf without becoming a blithering idiot like all the others.</blockquote>
