Gone With The Wind was produced by David O'Selznick and Clark Gable was offered the male lead while they did a wide search where they interviewed over 1000 girls for the heroine Scarlett. A role which Vivien Leigh eventually landed. Other noticable stars in the movie are: Olivia De Havilland and Leslie Howard. The movie is considered one of the most commercially successful movies ever and is also considered one of the greatest films of all time. It had two directors Victor Flemming and George Cukor. The movie is based on a book by Margaret Mitchell.
