Of course, many of those people died far too young. It's heartening to see that Stanley lived to be a good age. I always associate him with his good friend Kenneth Williams. Stanley received many mentions in KW's diaries, letters, autobiography and anecdotes. One anecdote that springs to mind is of a time Kenneth was a passenger in Stanley's convertible. While they were stopped in traffic a pedestrian recognised Stanley, stopped and said "Oh, it's... It's... No... No... Don't tell me... It's... Oh... Don't tell me", and Stanley retorted "I won't" as he sped off.</blockquote>
