It's official, the sad and disturbing news that the UK has become a more hateful place since the Brexit referendum.
Official Home office data has shown the total number of hate incidents in the UK reached a record 94,098, from April 2017 to March 2018 - a rise of 17% from the previous year.
Just over three-quarters of those reported incidents, a total of 71,251, were classified as "race hate".
Crimes targeted at people because of their sexual orientation made up 12% of the total.
Religious hate crime, the majority of which was aimed at Muslims, rose by a massive 40%.
There was a recorded spike in hate crimes after the Brexit referendum.
