The trailer for the new series has arrived. It premieres Monday, April 1 on the streaming platform CBS All Access, which also features the new Star Trek series. Season 1 will comprise 10 episodes and after the 2-hour premiere they will be available on Thursdays.

Were you a fan of the original series and, if so, will you watch the reboot?

I had been thinking of buying the original series on DVD but it's a bit expensive. I remember watching reruns in the 1990s and loving it. Maybe if I get a good deal on it I'll pick it up. I am also interested in seeing this redo. Wasn't there also a late '90s or early '00s version?

I've watched most episodes of the 80s series but it was never scary or spooky enough for me. I'm sure these new episodes will be much, much better.

Yes, there was a 1980s and a 2000s version. I've never seen the latter, but I do recall seeing several 80s episodes when I was a child and I enjoyed them at the time, but I don't think any of them had been able to surpass the brilliance of the best episodes of the original Rod Serling black-and-white series. This trendy "dark tone" that many current series/movies adopt might suit the 2019 reboot, though.

Well, I've asserted many times there's a ~60 year cycle. So this may be the time to do it. Like "The Haunting of Hill House" was written in 1959, and now there's the series.

No period captures undiluted spooky like the early-'60s. The veil between this world and the next was just thinner then for a few years -- like a zone, a twilight zone.

get the original series on blu-ray it's well worth it. i have them all on dvd in fact. i haven't seen the 80's one in years though. the (2002) one was decent but i can't wait until this one

I wonder if it will come to Netflix outside the US, like they did with Star Trek.

honestly for me i prefer buying it rather than watch it on netflix. of the many reasons Netflix if they have it at all or if they do in the future only has it for a set amount of time anyways.
owning it you can watch it as much as you want. for example i'm currently watching season 13 of Supernatural that i bought last week on blu-ray. if i want to go back to season 4 for example i can go to my shelf and put one of the discs in. plus on that show from what i'm reading they don't have rights to certain songs for netflix so some of the music is changed yet if i put in one of the dvd's or blu-rays it's on it just as it was aired.

I only love the original Black & White one. I have the compete series on dvd. Man, the first 2 seasons are gold.
I never enjoyed much the many reboots, not even the 2019...

If think Black Mirror is way better than the 2019 remake.

seasons 1-3 of TZ the original show that are the golden years, season 4 is decent and so is season 5. but than Serling has gone on record
saying the reason for that is that by the time season 3 ended he was writing on fumes cause he was exhausted on writing and burnt out pretty much. i still have not seen the new version of Twilight zone. on season 2 of the the Original show i'm up to episode #53 Twenty-Two Original airdate 2-10-1961 which is a good one i just love that ending.

1st season finale was the only episode that caught my attention, but still it wasn't good. Maybe this Twilight Zone would have worked if an episode ran only 20 - 25 minutes instead of 40 minutes. All episodes were stretched, there was no episode with so many twists that 40 minutes running time make sense.

I honestly tried to give it a chance but just couldn’t get into it. Sadly nothing they’ve ever done comes close to the original IMO.

I finished original Twilight Zone a few years ago. I bought season 4 on DVD, so hour-long episodes were my final ones. I was really sad when it was over, because I wouldn't get to know episodes from the original run anymoire. From now on it's only repeats.

there were 5 seasons a know of the Original show, i remember watching the (2002) version with Forest Whitaker i didn't see the entire run but what i did see pretty much felt like the lead would die at the end of each episode if i recall. that got tiring to see them all end with the leads death at least for the handful i did see other than that it was pretty decent

i am currently watching Season 3 episode #80 of the Original show "A Quality of Mercy' it's not one of my favorite episodes it's got a young Leonard Nimoy and a young Dean Stockwell too. has anyone seen it?
