@Willie Oleson :lol: You made think of four characters:

-Jill Smith, whom everyone seemed to hate because she was an even bigger liar than Rachel (who seemed to have a reason for being so messed up, considering her past and home life);

-Paul Hanley, who was described by somebody around here as "a sadist who's too cowardly to do anything" and who just can't make a simple statement without monologuing;

-Lew Miles, who was always going, "I have to tell you something!" "I can't tell you!" "I have to tell you something!" "I can't tell you!" "I have to tell you something!" "I can't tell you!";

-and finally, Betty Anderson herself from the show's infant days, where she kept on telling Rod, "I gotta talk to you! I gotta talk to you! I gotta taaaaaaalk to yoooooou!" whereas in the book, Betty simply walked up to him and told him, with all the frankness in the world, "I'm pregnant. We gotta get married."

I thought she was like Claire Morton (whom I liked at first)

Claire Morton was very interesting - initially. I was amazed at how many female doctors/professionals "Peyton Place" had! That's why I plan on having Claire's character in my remake be more focused on her career... though I also have her as a lesbian having a secret affair with Laura Brooks, the widowed sister of Leslie Harrington. ;)

They really couldn't let Allison go, could they. Now it was her baby!
I really enjoyed Jill in her last story arc.

Haha, yeah... I personally didn't mind the whole baby thing, because really, the fact that such an important character like Allison should disappear, that's got to have some ongoing mysteries. I just didn't like the resolution.

Although it's been a while since I watched Jill's story arc.

Intriguing character, that Rachel Welles. Maybe someone should talk to her?
