The moron did it. USA will be leaving the Paris climate deal, joining Nicaragua & Syria as the countries not involved.

It just angers me how someone with so much power can deny climate change, despite all reasearch, science and expert prognoses. It's very much like saying that cancer is a hoax. You can deny it all you want, but it's still gonna be there.

Just because you can't tell a difference in 50 years time, doesn't mean you won't notice a big change in 1000 years time. Or does year 3000 doesn't matter, cause we'll all be dead by then?

Just because you can't tell a difference in 50 years time, doesn't mean you won't notice a big change in 1000 years time.

Scary thing is, there's a good chance we WILL be able to tell the difference in 50 years. America is the second largest source of GHGs in the world.

Choosing to withdraw from the agreement pretty much grabs the entire planet by the you-know-what.

Trump couldn't care less about the will of the people. He promised to drain the swamp, give everybody health coverage, and protect Social Security and Medicare, and has spent his short time in office doing the opposite.

It's why Trump uses executive orders. It's also why Trump and the GOP like the nuclear option. They are doing everything possible to ramrod the agenda they want, rather than what the people want. It's one of the reasons why Trump is so extremely unpopular. His assault on climate change is yet another way he's sticking it to the people. Why would he care about the future when he'll be dead before climate change affects him?

What makes this even more sickening is how he's turned his decision regarding the Paris Accord into yet another one of those Apprentice-style cliffhanger moments that his disturbingly narcissistic personality craves.

He tweeted on Saturday he would be making the decision this week and then yesterday when the news came out he was most likely pulling out he tweeted again he would be announcing his decision today.

Will the US remain in the Paris Accord or will it join Syria and Nicaragua? Stay tuned! President Trump will make his decision right after the break...

His imminent downfall can't come soon enough.

Hearing smack-talk from the Frenchman 31 years his junior irritated and bewildered Trump, aides said. A few days later, Trump got his revenge. He proclaimed from the Rose Garden, “I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris.”

And that is the level of primitivism in the White House that America has sunk to. A 70-year old manchild who acts like an Internet troll and puts the wellbeing of children at stake over sticking it to those who don't worship him.

Few Americans Support Donald Trump's Decision To Leave The Paris Agreement
Views on the subject are increasingly polarized.

• Less than a third of the public supports President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the Paris Agreement on climate change, according to a new HuffPost/YouGov poll.
• Just 28 percent of Americans approve of the decision to leave the agreement, while 47 percent disapprove. About a quarter aren’t sure.
• Intense opposition outweighs intense support ― 39 percent of the public strongly disapproves of Trump’s decision, with just 19 percent strongly in favor.
• Support for withdrawal from the accord has increased modestly since a May survey taken before the announcement, when just 17 percent of Americans favored leaving and 61 percent were opposed.
• While some of that change may be due to the variation in wording between the questions, it also demonstrates the power of polarization. Before the White House had taken an official stance on the issue, 31 percent of Trump voters favored staying in the agreement. Now, with polling on the agreement also partially a referendum on the president’s performance, views are more strongly split along political lines. Just 11 percent of Trump voters ― in contrast with 88 percent of voters who backed Hillary Clinton ― now say they disapprove of the decision to withdraw.
• The U.S. is due to exit the Paris Agreement on Nov. 4, 2020, one day after the next presidential election. Environmental groups are hoping that Trump’s decision to remove the U.S. from the pact will elevate the importance of environmental issues in the upcoming 2018 and 2020 campaigns.
• If the issue does rise in prominence, it could work against the GOP. Forty percent of Americans say they trust the Democratic Party more than the GOP to handle climate issues versus 26 percent who trust the Republican Party more, with another third unsure. Six in 10 Americans say they’re at least somewhat concerned about climate change, though just a third are very concerned.
• But environmental issues have rarely been deciding factors at the ballot box ― and, as Trump voters’ shift in opinion demonstrates, partisanship may be more likely to drive Americans’ views about environmental issues than the other way around.
• The people most likely to care deeply are also unlikely to be swing voters. Rather, the highest levels of concern are largely on the left. Seventy percent of Clinton voters say they’re very concerned about climate change, a view shared by only 8 percent of Trump voters and barely over a quarter of those who didn’t vote or supported a third party.
• Asked to pick their top two issues from a list, just 16 percent of the public overall chose the environment, ranking it behind immigration (20 percent), the economy (37 percent) and their top concern, health care (43 percent).
• Young Americans, however, are more likely to place a priority on environmental issues. Among adults under age 30, the environment is viewed as the second most important issue, behind only health care. Nearly half of young Americans who lean toward or support the Democratic Party call the environment a top issue.
• The HuffPost/YouGov poll consisted of 1,000 completed interviews conducted June 1-2 among U.S. adults, using a sample selected from YouGov’s opt-in online panel to match the demographics and other characteristics of the adult U.S. population.

Republicans support Trump's Paris climate move. Almost no one else does.
President Donald Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate accords last week was cast by most smart observers as a ploy to keep his base in line.

• New polling out of the Washington Post and ABC News suggests it will probably work — although the same data make clear that Trump's decision is almost certain to reinforce doubts about him among Democrats and independents.
• Two-thirds of Republicans support Trump's decision on Paris, according to the Post-ABC poll, with 46% of them supporting the move strongly.
• By contrast, 82% of Democrats oppose the Paris move with — and this is stunning — 67% feeling that way strongly. The numbers are similar among independents. Sixty three percent oppose Trump's move with 51% of those acknowledging "strong" opposition.
• What those numbers tell you — beyond the fact that Trump's decision on Paris was aimed squarely at the base and no one else — is how polarized climate change (and every other issue) has become in our modern American politics.
• The average American has very little detailed understanding of what pulling out of the Paris accords means. But lacking the details doesn't stop people from drawing hard and fast conclusions about how they feel about it. (God bless human nature!)
• For a big chunk of Republicans, anything Trump does that liberals — and the media — seem to not like, they are reflexively in favor of. Ditto Democrats, except in reverse. If Trump does it, it's not bad but is also a part of a broader stepping back from the world stage that they see as corrosive to America's image around the world.
• The real problem for Trump, however, is in neither one of those partisan camps. It's how dismally the Paris decision polls among independents that should really concern the president.
• Remember that Trump won independents, who made up roughly one-third of the total 2016 electorate, by four points over Hillary Clinton. While the energy within the Republican base was clearly a major factor in Trump's win, he simply doesn't get over the top in places like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin without independent voters.
• In Michigan, Trump won independents by 16 points. In Pennsylvania, he carried them by 7. And in Wisconsin, Trump beat Clinton among independents by 10.
• Now, it's important to remember that, historically, climate change has not been an issue that has animated large numbers of independents to cast their votes one way or another. So, while lots of independents oppose Trump's Paris decision, it's far less clear how many of them will actually vote on the issue come 2018 or 2020. If past is prologue, the answer is not all that many.
• The bigger worry for Trump is that his decision on the Paris climate accords wind up being part of a broader concoction that leads independents to conclude that for all of his outsider credentials, he simply doesn't represent their broader views on a whole host of issues.
• Such a conclusion reached by a bloc of independents anywhere near either the 2018 or 2020 elections could spell big trouble for Trump and the Republican Party he leads.

Polls show that 96% of the people who voted for Trump have no regrets and see all the agitation in Washington over Trump's endless slew of misguided tweets and actions as a good sign that he's "shaking things up" and "breaking the system" which will, naturally, ultimately benefit themselves (which, of course, it will not, as Trump's policies, and prospective policies, are geared to hurt exactly the working class who put him into office in the first place).

Their calls to "drain the swamp" didn't mean getting the oligarchs and corporate plutocrats and their stranglehold on of the government out of the system, let alone Russia. To his voters, draining the swamp meant getting rid of Mexicans, Muslim, blacks, gays and Lena Dunham.

In other words: "Libtards" are the enemy.

These are politically naive and unsophisticated people, his voters, whose egos and cultural self-image and sense of nobility are deeply tied to their 2016 vote for Donald Trump. So they hold him to no standard at all, see his claims of abuse at the hands of the "fake news media" to be completely credible, and are willing to be even knowingly ruined by him once and for all because they've allowed themselves to be convinced that Trump is an idealized (i.e., rich) version of themselves, that bluster and arrogance and finger-pointing and lying-without-apology and endless pretending-not-to-have-been-caught-at-anything being what A Real Man does.

So don't expect any remorse over their Trump vote anytime soon.
