"This man is dangerous and a threat to democracy." Unlike, say, the current administration that's responsible for funding a proxy war in Ukraine and a genocide in Gaza. Not to mention bailing on their promise to raise the minimum wage and implement the public option. People at home continue to struggle economically as tax dollars continue being funneled to wealthy elites and military contractors. We also have an immigration problem due to US foreign policy displacing people from their homes. The most telling part is that Harris is running on many of the campaign promises Biden made in 2020! The Dems love having issues to run on, while never putting in the effort of implementing them.
Democrats also thumbed their nose at the will of voters by subverting the primary process. They covered up Biden's mental decline, and then used the debate as an excuse to pull a bait and switch. Every Democratic Party operative and pundit that claimed Biden was mentally fit the day before were now saying that Biden needed to be replaced. The debate gave them just the ammunition they needed to pull the trigger. Now the delegates get to choose Harris, and Dem supporters are pretending that this is democratic.
As for Trump, I don't know anybody outside his MAGA base who doesn't think he's a danger to democracy. That was obvious when he tried to stop Mike Pence from certifying the election results and urged his supporters to protest at the capitol. The fact that Vance is revealing himself to be more of a far-right liability than originally thought isn't all that surprising either. It was obvious from the beginning that he's as much of an opportunist as any seasoned politician. His flip from "never Trump" to Trump's VP says it all.
The bottom line is both parties don't give a damn about democracy and are only interested in doing what's beneficial to them. Good luck trying to vote your way out of that.
