Cable TV car crash Canary Wharf was the brainchild of professional windbag Kelvin McKenzie. It ran in the mid 90's for a surprising 180 episodes on failing cable channel LIVE TV (known mostly for it's topless darts and newsreading bunny). To keep costs low, the show was shot in LIVE TV's actual offices so the "extras" wandering around in the background, were actually station staff going about their daily jobs. Mostly forgotten now, it did boast a number of fledgling actors who'd go on to greater things like Tristan Gemmill (Casualty, Coronation Street), Kika Myrilees (Bad Girls) and Anna Brecon (Lady Tara in Emmerdale). Benny from Crossroads pops up in this episode too. There's quite a few episodes online covering such exciting plots as their bargain basement homage to the Moldavian massacre and an X Files / The Colbys inspired finale.
