How funny this should come out today: Newt Gingrich on Trump's often-stated promise to "drain the swamp" in Washington I'm told he now just disclaims that. He now says it was cute, but he doesn't want to use it anymore. ... I'd written what I thought was a very cute tweet about "the alligators are complaining," and somebody wrote back and said they were tired of hearing this stuff. Do they really give a damn about anything but themselves and their hatred for liberals, Hillary, the Obamas, the media, etc.? If they really cared about the national security being endangered by Hillary's emails, they'd be concerned about the Russian hacking. But they don't give a damn about it. Preserving legitimacy of his election is more important, so they're all in denial about it. So Trump can break all of his campaign promises and brazenly say "that works better before the election - now we don't care about it, right?" or blatantly abuse the presidency to line his coffers all he wants. They don't give a damn about any of the stuff. It's just primitive football fan mentality. They just wanted their guy to win and the other team, which they despise, to lose. And they'll let him con them and rob them blind, as long as it's their guy doing it.
