But, surprise surprise, it's as brilliant as everyone says it is. The ballet stuff is not at all stiff and theatrical; it's really, really cinematic and almost psychedelic, which is quite remarkable given the 60s hadn't even happened yet. The whole film is beautiful to look at, so rich and vivid and colourful -- you want to pause almost every shot and hang it on your wall -- and the story is romantic and tragic and timeless: it feels earthy and otherworldly all at the same time.</p><p></p><p><img src="https://www.irishtimes.com/polopoly_fs/1.2469753.1450353240!/image/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_620/image.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></p></blockquote><p></p>
