Both films are about an innocent man who is falsely convicted of a crime for which he is sentenced to serve time on a brutal prison chain gang. He goes on to escape the chain gang and goes on the run. Blackmail is not just similar to I am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang some scenes and even some dialogue are so similar they seem to be near identical. What this film doesn't do though is copy the brilliance of its predecessor. It has none of the drama, the tension, the horror of the original and I felt completely detached from what I was watching. After years of trying to get a copy of this film I felt completely let down by it.
