Last night I watched A Death In The Family. :)Ray and Donna shared two very sad and painful scenes in this particular episode that dealt with their impending divorce and Ray trying very hard to move on without Donna and unfortunately with Jenna and Charlie who were dealing with Bobby leaving them and Jenna’s unborn child for Pam and Christopher. :(

The scenes between them in A Death in the Family are very hard to watch. I hate when they’re talking on the phone and Ray says that he’s accepted the fact that they were never right for each other. And then after they meet with the lawyers and he tells her to go back to Washington cause he’s lost everything he ever wanted. And all she wants to do is talk to him but he’s so bitter. It’s very difficult watching them break apart.

You are so right @Mrs Bobby James Ewing that Ray and Donna definitely deserved a happy ending, even though I understand why that couldn’t happen. They were such a great couple and the way they were destroyed in season 10 dvd was ridiculous. Ray and Jenna as a couple never did anything for me.

I think my favorite scene with Ray and Donna would have to be in the first episode of the dream season after Bobby “dies.” This is the scene where they make up and decide to work things out. It’s such a great scene and well written. Too bad it really didn’t happen though and they ended up getting divorced anyway. So sad!

@DallasFanForever, I loved Donna&Ray’s reconciliation and their storyline with the special needs kids during the dream season. :) It was a great storyline and it was very well written. :) I hate that was all wiped out and that Donna&Ray ended up getting a divorce after Patrick/Bobby retuned to the show in 1986. :(

Happy Easter @Mrs Bobby James Ewing!! And I do agree with you when you say that Donna and Ray’s reconciliation and the adoption storyline were great to watch during the dream season. It is too bad they really didn’t happen as I felt this was the season the two actors were given their best material to work with.

It's already been posted in it's own thread in the lounge but I thought I'd mention it here too that our friend Tommie (Ray&Donna) who started this thread has sadly passed away today.

Tommie was a great guy whose talents included writing, making fan videos and as you've all seen in this thread capturing great screen caps. I thought I'd repost the last Ray & Donna video that he posted in tribute of him.

To see the rest of his videos you can visit his YouTube Channel.

Tommie we will miss you. :rip:

You know before the board crash this thread had less posts and views than the JR/SE and Bobby/Pam threads but now much thanks to Tommie's dedication to this thread it has more posts and views!

I just posted this on another thread and I figured I’d post it here too as I’m a big Ray and Donna fan. I’d like to open up a discussion about what you consider to be their top 5 scenes or storylines.

I think we need to get this thread going again.

I don't know if I can chose five. But I think one of their strongest storylines was in season seven when Ray is accused of murdering Mickey and how Donna stands by him. That one scene where she visits him at the jail and they put up their hands on both sides of the glass definitely stands out for me.

Great couple, but both were way too damn insecure. Ray couldn’t stand Donna’s success and anytime Ray did anything that wasn’t cowboy related, she’d treat him like a child that she had to protect.

I’m a big Ray and Donna fan. I’d like to open up a discussion about what you consider to be their top 5 scenes.

Okay so I'm gonna try to pick five scenes for Donna & Ray:

1) It is heartbreaking, but the Down Syndrome's baby scene in the dream season. Their emotions are so raw in that scene. It's in The Wind of Change.
2) The scene at the bar where they talk about how they are looking for an Happy Ending. It was in The Outsiders.
3) The scene when she comes to see him in jail after he's been arrested for Mickey's murder. I think it's in Check and Mate.
4) Their reconciliation after Jock has died. I think it's in The Maelstrom.
5) The scene at Lucy's wedding when she corrects his tie and they almost kiss. It's in End of the Road.

Now that's my favorite Donna & Ray scenes. What's yours?

1. Their reconciliation scene after Bobby’s “death”
2. The scene when they first meet
3. The scene after Jock’s death when she has left town and they make up on the phone and he tells her to come home
4. As sad as it is, the Downes Syndrome baby scene
5. And cause it makes me laugh. the scene at Ewing Oil after Bobby and JR fight in the pool and JR is listening to the tapes. Donna just tears into JR after he insults them and Ray is smiling and trying to hold her back.

My top five Donna and Ray Scenes:

1. Donna&Ray reconcile after Bobby “dies”-the Family Ewing
2. Ray tells Donna that their baby didn’t make it—suffer the little children
3. Ray packs up the baby’s clothes-Suffer the little Children
4. Donna&Ray meet at the Longview Bar-The Outsiders
5. Donna&Ray talk about wanting to have a happy ending-The Outsiders

Honorable mentions

Donna sees Ray in jail after he has been arrested for murdering Mickey-Check and
Donna serves Ray with divorce papers-in the Line of Fire
Donna&Ray sign their property settle papers- A Death in the Family

Their break up in season 9 was very painful to watch.

I'm just done rewatching 1983 - 84 season and Ray and Donna were so great this season.

The Mickey Trotter death aftermath and the Edgar Randolph stuff showcased how wonderful they were as a couple. It breaks my heart that they didn't end up together same as Pam and Bobby.

Not looking forward to 1984 - 85 and them drifting apart. I'm glad I still have the dream to look forward to though.
