Best performing TV drama of the week....but yeah, let's ignore that.

Series 13 + the 2022 specials now collectively average out as the #18th most watched show on UK television, with two top ten placements. That's better than Series 9 and Series 12, and all of the classic era bar Season 2 way back in 1964-65. Furthermore, Jodie Whittaker's era finishes up with an average chart placing of #17, which is equal to Christopher Eccleston and two places up on Peter Capaldi.

All the verifiable numbers support my position not yours.

How do you explain the army of former fans that have stopped supporting and watching the series?

There was still a decent representation of Doctor Who merchandise on the shelves during the Capaldi era,
especially compared to now

I couldn't give a flying fig about merchandise, sales could cease altogether for what I care, I grew up with none and as an adult I don't care about it - it's the TV show I love. I don't read WHO magazines, I've never been to a convention, I don't ask for autographs...I watch the TV show and I love it, I DO NOT CARE about anything else connected to it.

Doctor Who is beating all the TV soaps, that dominate the TV charts - that's fantastic and fills my heart with joy. I don't care which era is loved more than others, nor what the ratings are for other eras, I watch the show because I love to and when I feel it's not quite as good I'll watch it and not re-watch it.

There is so much to be happy about the show, people sniping and being negative about it need to go and watch something else....maybe on Disney+, where ratings are much lower than Doctor Who.

Here's something for you - Coronation Street killed off Doctor Who in the 80;s....destroyed in in the ratings....but last week the tables were turned and Who was watched by more people.

It seems that whatever we discuss here in the Doctor Who thread you cannot post without condemning the last era, no matter what the discussion is about.
