    Favorite Logo?

I was going to mention this logo, which only appeared on the original prints of S5 E1. I suppose it’s supposed to look like a wine label, but I can see why it was replaced. As others have said, the replacement wasn’t too striking either.

    Title cards you hate...

Not so much the title cards but the positioning of them in Season 4. Some weeks Deborah Adair and Michael Nader’s credits were back to back (depending on who else was in the episode) and because both the backgrounds are night time shots they look a bit clumsy when viewed one after the other...

    Worst Dynasty Characters

So the balcony cliffhanger was filmed before Collins announced she was leaving? I had heard that Alexis was supposed to have died as a result of that accident had a further season been commissioned.

Where is it? How much is there?

I wonder if we would have still seen the events in Retribution - Angela’s kidnap, reconnection with Julia, and Gustav, Richard and others in peril underground - but possibly much later in the season, maybe as the finale? Perhaps Lance’s attempted murder or Angela charge (which I did find a...

Who should have died in Season 5 ?

Wasn’t it revealed after Chase was shot in S5 that the bullet hadn’t come from Jeff Wainwright’s gun? If so, who shot Chase?

Sons & Daughters "Reflections and sadness and happiness ..."

Had she just been thrown in the pool by Wayne?

    Falcon Crest Video Clips

Interestingly, Susan was wrong about both Jane and Lana’s ages - at the time of recording (1984) Jane was 66 and Lana 63. Wasn’t there some uncertainty about Jane Wyman’s year of birth (I’ve seen it quoted as 1913 rather than 1917)?

Sons & Daughters "Sons and daughters, love and headlines ...:

Apostrophe in the wrong place. Roland only had one wife! Reminds me of a similar error on a sign advertising “topless waitresess” or similar (when Amanda applied for the job not realising she would have to show off her assets!) - Ep 328.

Sons & Daughters "Sons and daughters, love and laughter, pictures within a picture and happiness ..."

That’s actually Cornelia and Michael Eastland’s wedding photo! Looks like Tony Ward (Roland)’s face has been added over the top of her real life husband.

    Your earliest soap memory?

My earliest Coronation Street memories are similar to others. A woman (called Sally?) visiting Deidre and giving Tracy a doll, then Tracy going missing and eventually being found with the woman. Must have been 1979. I remember the aftermath of Renee’s car crash - people on the street wondering...

    Abby Dalton - Opening Credits

I’m curious as to the way Julia was credited after the first three seasons. When Julia returned in Season 4, Abby Dalton was immediately re-added to the opening titles, despite the fact she did not appear in every episode, and left again in “Forsaking All Others”. She generally only appeared...

    Music From Dallas

Garry - I had no idea so many stock/library tracks were used in 1980. "Children of Devon", at 03:10 in your complication, is one of my personal favourites.

    Looking for clips.

Also, Season 4, "The Showdown" - Richard goes to punch Chase and knocks Angela out instead.

    Falcon Crest Video Clips

Fascinating interviews. Billy sums up what everyone seems to say about Jane Wyman - the consummate professional who expected nothing except the same from others. Susan - although perhaps being tactful when asked about the Lana/Jane "feud" - confirms what I've read elsewhere; Jane was nothing...

    FC does sitcom!

It really does highlight the humour in the scripts! The muso guy calling Angela "babe", and her reaction, is obviously an in-joke, as "Babe" was Jane's nickname!

    Censorship/Editing ("The Roof")

Yes, that was the version used on BBC One in late 1985. Was that the original ending on ABC too? I assume they didn't normally insert a promo or sting between the end of the episode and the credits.

    Censorship/Editing ("The Roof")

That's true Willie - and Matthew, you may be right, though I somehow remember thinking "would a baby smash to pieces like that?". That said, I was only 11 or 12, and my memory may indeed be playing tricks on me. It does sound a bit like there is a jump in the underscore, but again that could...

    Censorship/Editing ("The Roof")

Watching this clip from a repeat showing of the season 3 episode "The Roof", I'm pretty certain it is different from the original episode shown in the 80s. When Claudia drops the doll from the roof and it lands on the car, I'm sure the original episode showed the doll shatter to pieces on the...

Why did they change around the ending of each episode in the earlier seasons?

I'm not sure how effective it was crediting them at the end of the last segment like that. Better than adding them to the closing credits certainly, but I think it would have been better to credit them in the opening sequence as a "special guest star".

About the first-season opening of Falcon Crest...

AFAIK the music didn't change when the S2 opening titles were updated to replace the mosaic of faces with a full-screen scenery shot - so I doubt timing was an issue. The credit length was the same. I assume the network didn't like them, or the producers weren't satisfied with their look. It's...
