Episodes 336-340 (...continued) Carly, too, is making changes in her relationship. It’s out with the old: Donald later approves of the decision (he actually congratulates her) and tells her she’s showing great maturity. And while Carly later comments to Pippa that it’s none of Donald’s business, he does have a point. Carly is a very likeable character these days. She's less the drama queen and seems to have left her whiny entitlement behind. She is also far more sage and calm in any given situation than she would have been in the same situations just a few short months ago. It’s possibly in with the new. The guy that rescued Carly, Roo and Bobby is hanging round the diner. He has a yacht and is stirring up a lot of mystery. There’s a bit of a Grease 2 “Who’s That Guy?” thing going on, where everyone - especially Carly - is fascinated by him but nobody seems to know anything about him, including his name. He’s actually Adam Cameron. Presumably intended as a Frank replacement (he first appeared in Frank’s penultimate episode), I think of him as Home and Away’s answer to Sons and Daughters’ Andy Green: a lanky orphan with equally lanky hair who seems to hang around forever without having a good reason for being there. Meanwhile, Roo has no less than two goodbye scenes with Alf. The first is when she tells him she’s leaving to be with Frank: The second is as she’s leaving, with a final hug for Ailsa (a really awkward looking hug. I’ll miss her. I love how Ailsa’s baby crisis continues to be a running thread even in this historic scene. At the bait shop Alf initially tries to avoid the subject of Roo with Tom, but fails when Tom picks up on it and brings the subject up himself: continued...
