Australian election

We had our triennial Federal election in Australia on Saturday.
The result has been described as replicating that of Canada earlier in the week.
The incumbent centre-left government which had been flailing in the polls only a few months ago was returned with a greatly increased majority, while the righter-wing opposition was almost wiped out, after flirting with Trumpian rhetoric.
The opposition leader himself has become the first in our history to lose his own seat, after claiming that he alone in the world would be able to negotiate away the US tariffs.

Now the Greens leader has also lost his seat.

For the first time I voted for the Marijuana Party. I figured - much like this thread - the world is going to pot...I may as well join them. Perhaps this is what the planet requires. One giant joint to get everyone to chill out.
