Yesterday, serial lying Brexit supporting Tory, Boris Johnson told a group of party member that EU regulations require kipper suppliers to keep their products cool with ice pillows when they are delivered. T0 ram home his point, he took out a kipper and waved it in the air claiming the manufacturer of the kipper, who was from the Isle of Man, was "utterly furious" with EU regulations because "after decades of sending kippers like this through the post he has had his costs massively increased by Brussels bureaucrats who have insisted that each kipper must be accompanied by this: a plastic ice pillow".
Just about everything he said was a lie to whip up anti-EU hate. EU regulation covers fresh fish, not smoked fish so they wouldn't apply to kippers.
Secondly, the Isle of Man is not in the UK and therefore not in the EU meaning they do not have to adhere to any regulations made in Brussels. The regulations he was talking about were those imposed by the UK Government not the EU.
Chances are the "furious" manufacturer was made up by Mr Johnson. Just one lie after another and he's likely to be our next Prime Minister.
