So this is what "strong and stable" looks like? Theresa May and her party promised us that at the last general election and ever since we have just had weakness and wobbles, none more so than the events of today following the publication of the Tory government's Brexit plans. The man who negotiated the deal on behalf of the UK, Dominic Raab, has resigned because he can't support the deal he negotiated. You can't make this stuff up!

Theresa May who for months has been repeating the mantra "No deal is better than a bad deal" is now trying to sell her Brexit plans on the basis that the bad deal she agreed is better than no deal at all.

The pound has plummeted further on the currency markets, businesses are leaving the UK in droves and those that are staying are stockpiling raw materials because they anticipate chaos after Brexit day.

Brexit is proving to be the disaster for Britain that we all feared.

IMO we now need a referendum again to ask the British public if they want to agree to the package or to reamin in the EU.

I do feel sorry for Theresa May, she is on her a hiding to nothing. This is Cameron and Osbournes mess and they buggered off. Some of the right wing in her party want booting out.

Would Corbyn make a better job of it, would he hell. Where was Corbyn and Labour when they were supposed to be campaigning to stay in the EU in the first place! They were no where, silent wallies. If they had pursuaded a lot of their supporters to reamin we would have had a different outcome.

Who ever is in it is a poisoned chalice, why do you think Cameron ran off.

I agree. I don't think any who voted in the referendum voted for the kind of Brexit that Theresa May is proposing. The democratic thing to do would be to go back to the people to decide Yes or No on the final deal.

I have no sympathy for Theresa May at all whatsoever. She was part of David Cameron's top team that decided on his disastrous approach to deal with Tory Party divisions by holding a referendum. She is culpable to for the mess we are in.

Not only do I not feel sorry for her, I hope she is feeling totally desperate, distressed and depressed by her entire mess she helped create. I say that because maybe she will start to feel how she made hundreds of elderly Windrush people feel who after a lifetime of paying UK tax, Theresa May denied them health care, deported others and made others lose their jobs and homes. Those are the people I feel sorry for not the wicked woman who put them in that position.

That simply isn't true. The official Remain campaign was Britain Stronger In Europe which was headed by Tory supporting businessman Lord Rose. He chose to focus his campaign on David Cameron and George Osborne who embarked on a failed "project fear" approach. Jeremy Corbyn was as part of the Labour In campaign and he held rallies up and down the country every day delivering a positive message about Europe. The media chose to focus on Cameron and Osborne and so Corbyn efforts were given little media exposure. Corbyn's campaign however was far more successful in that 65% of Labour voters voted remain whereas only 39% of Tory voters did. The failure to persuade people to vote remain lies at the doorstep of the Tories. Incidentally, where was Theresa May during the campaign? I don't recall her giving media interviews or taking part in debates promoting the remain cause.

It's only a "poisoned chalice" because Theresa May created unrealistic expectations, over-promising what she would agree and ultimately under-delivering with the final agreement. Theresa May was part of the Tory top team that created the chalice and when she became Prime Minister she was the one that filled it with poison.

I will take your word over Corbyn. As for the media focusing on the Tories, if Labour had the likes of Campbell on board this would not have happened and their message would have been all over the media, which is as important as smarching up and down the country with banners and plackards! Labours voice was pretty quiet!!!
