So they would judge her on that. She only does songs like My Heart Will Go On and Think Twice? Well not really. There was an active move against Celine by the cool music press for years. Like Disco and SAW I guess only this wasn&#039;t a genre of music it was one woman. And yet she would not go away and yet she kept on selling, even when radio wouldn&#039;t play her. Mariah gave in and pleased the cool music press by becoming a stripper with requisite guest rappers and MTV and the like continued to play her, for a while. Whitney always had that real R&amp;B edge and there was Bobby Brown and drugs and she was always going to be cool. It seems that the very reason that the music press hated Celine was that she was talented, and that she wasn&#039;t a mess. They would always bring up that she didn&#039;t write her own material. As if being a singer should automatically make her an excellent songwriter. It was just the kind of stuck up their own arse thing that every copy and paste review or her albums said. And yet Celine continued to sell and continued to have the best voice in the business. And then what happened? Kids grew up listening to her, from their parents and they didn&#039;t judge her on the basis of bitchy &#039;90s reviews and articles about her. They just knew she could sing, like no other. And they also noticed how she dressed. They noticed that she was amazing, and then the rest of the world caught on. Celine didn&#039;t start dressing that way last year or the year before. She&#039;s always, always been out there with her style and fashion. It just wasn&#039;t cool to say that.It&#039;s very strange when someone you have liked for years, that was never really considered cool suddenly becomes the darling of everybody.
