The following is a new idea for a Dallas continuation:

music:

This might be a harsher song than most would approve but the idea is to set up an edgier tone.

John Ross sits on a stone bench looking at family markers. 'Eleanor Southworth Ewing Farlow.' 'John "Jock" Ewing I.' 'Steven Clayton Farlow, Jr.' 'Aaron Southworth.' 'Barbara Southworth.' 'Garrison Southworth.' 'John Ross "JR" Ewing II.' He then looks at 'Christopher Robert Ewing' and the markers of two infants 'Christina Rebecca Ewing' and 'Paul Robert Ewing,' and drops his face into his hands.

Workers polish the finishing touches of a new sign which reads 'Ewing Industries,' and the camera flies up the 72 glass stories of the powerful downtown Dallas high rise.

A muted news reporter talks with pictures in the back ground: Southfork. John Ross and under his picture the caption, 'John Ross Ewing III.' Then, '1/2 of Ewing Industries.' Then, 'Net-worth: $48.6 Billion.' Next a picture of a handsome, twenty something, blonde man, 'Boaz "Bo" Harper Ewing'. Then, '1/2 of Ewing Industries.' Then, 'Net-worth: $48.6 Billion.' Then the Ewing Industries Building over which a list scrolls: 'Ewing Oil Company. Ewing Alternative Energy. West Star Corporation. Barnes Global. Wentworth Tool and Die. Ryland Logistics. Leland Bancorp. Southfork Cattle Company. Cyberbyte. Branch-water USA . . ."

Bo swims to the end of the Southfork pool and walks out, his bronze god like form, well over six feet. He pushed his golden hair back like a California surfer boy.

Several original Dallas clips regarding the pool without sound:

The song ends.

John Ross stands up at the graves, his face worn from crying. He says to JR, "It's over with. Your master piece is done." He turns to walk away and then stops. He looks back and says, "Maybe you might want to know, Uncle Bobby and Aunt Ann are in Virginia with Emma. She's won Olympic Gold. Harris is rotting away in prison. Judith's a U.S. Senator and a powerful ally. So's Ray's daughter Margaret, a Washington lobbyist, especially with Aunt Donna as a former Secretary of Energy. Ray lives with Jenna and Lucas on a farm up in Kansas. Uncle Gary and Aunt Val are in California with their kids and grandkids. Cliff Barnes is in a mental institution in Mexico. Aunt Pam and Christoper have been declared dead and remain in hiding. It's all done, even the Governor answers to me, just like you said. And of course you managed to die in the only year without a federal inheritance tax, because in the end JR Ewing gets exactly what he wants. No matter what it costs . . . and this time it cost me nearly everything." John Ross leaves.

*John Ross is based in part on Shakespeare's Hamlet of what would follow after he slays his uncle

**Bo is based in part on Shakespeare's Macbeth (thus also on Frank Underwood from House of Cards)

***David is in part based on the real life J. Paul Getty (several x-wives, avid art collector, prominent in world society)

Note: JR was in part based on the real life H.L. Hunt, and Bobby and Pam were based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, while the family was based on Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Giant - which is continued in this continuation as if after Big Daddy / Bick Benedict (JR) is gone.

Note: Living at Southfork are John Ross, Sue Ellen, Bo and Amy. Living in a high rise in Dallas apartment are Pamela and her young sons (with John Ross) Jay, Steven and Mitch. The Wendell children live in separate apartments in the same building. Living in a palatial mansion with grand gardens is David Wendell.

Note: while the Ewing boys (John Ross and Bo) are far wealthier than the Wendell's, CalcoPreston with a total market value of over $200 billion is the Goliath to their David. Ewing Industries is a privately held conglomerate owning or controlling dozens of companies including Ewing Oil, with a total value less than an half of CalcoPreston.

In the Southfork Living Room Sue Ellen introduces Isabel Wendell as the Ewing Family Foundation's new Vice President for Investments. "David's daughter."

One woman asks with a chuckle in her voice not unlike Marilee Stone, "How can a granddaughter of Jeremy Wendell work for the Ewings?"

Sue Ellen answers with her usual charm, "Isabel worked with several foundations in California and New York and an investment banking in Switzerland. She's simply the best at what she does, and I'm just thrilled she's joined us." Sue Ellen hugs her from the side.

"Well I guess," the woman says with raised eye brows.

"I've asked her to join the DOA," Sue Ellen declares.

"Well as a Wendell she's got the pedigree but what do you think her grandmother is going to say when she finds out she joined the DOA?"

Isabel answers, "My grandmother will be thrilled that I'm making so many friends."

The woman laughs. "Not the Gabriela DelSol I knew. Even when she was married to Jeremy, she had little to do with any of us."

Sue Ellen catches John Ross as he comes down the stairs and calls him into the room. "I want you to meet Isabel Wendell. Isabel this is my son, John Ross."

"It's a pleasure to meet you John Ross. I've heard so very much about you. We have a lot of common friends. It's funny we never ran into each other before."

"Well try not to believe everything people say, especially your father."

Isabel laughs. "No, I know my father very well. I know when his stories are told to favor himself. You're taking West Star out from under him and taking it private, I was impressed. The company sets on what were a lot of depleted fields. I here maybe only a third was actually extracted. With modern drilling technology that only you have, you'll get at the rest. That's impressive."

"My cousin Chris has hundreds of pattens and several from Wentworth Tool and Die that came with Ewing Global. I'm just making use of them."

"So I hear. Your mother doesn't hold it against you, that mis tíos abuelos," looking at the woman standing with them to explain who she is talking about, "Carlos DelSol," then looking back at John Ross, "helped you swindle her and you Uncle Bobby out of Ewing Global?"

"You'd have to ask her."

Sue Ellen somberly says, "After Chris died, I don't think either of us much cared."

"Yes I understand. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring it up." Sue Ellen hugs her and assured her it's ok. "Well John Ross, I wish the best tangling with my father. David Wendell hates your guts. He's rather found of your mother though, but he hates you and your Uncle Bobby and don't even mention JR around him."

"I think I'll live."

"I'm sure you will and then some."

"If you'll excuse me." John Ross leaves them and the room.

Sue Ellen says, "That's his den off the back of the house, where he works, at least when his children aren't here. He's a very good father."

"I heard. Pamela works for my father. I hear they've got some sort of tremulous relationship."

The extra woman says, "You could say that. They've been separated for ten years now?"

Sue Ellen answers, "Yes. She lives with the boys in Dallas."

"Yes. I live in the same building. They're adorable. Jay, he's ten and the twins, Steven and Mitch, they're eight. Seems odd that they had twins while they were separated?"

"Yeah well, Pamela's been tearing my son apart for a long time."

The extra woman laughs, "Of come on now. Everyone knows he's a son of a bitch. No offense Sue Ellen."

"I don't know if he is. I know I wouldn't want to tangle with him and neither should you."

In a high rise corner office with her back to the skyline of Dallas Pamela says, "You're the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for CalcoPreston. I don't want excuses. I want variances."

A very handsome man says, "It just takes time."

"Being David Wendell's son doesn't get you more time. Listen to me, Jeremy, we start moving oil from the Darnell Basin by the end of month. You have no more time."

"It's your husband that's causing the issue. We've got our lawyers on it, but the Ewing's have there own army of lawyers. My brothers, on our team. He doesn't sound hopeful."

"What doesn't sound hopeful?" an older man says while walking into the room.

"I'm trying to tell Pamela that getting around Ewing Oil with the Darnell Basin isn't likely. I've suggested we agree to share the pipeline. Ryland Logistics has made an offer."

"Since when do we go into business with the Ewing's?"

"Then what's your suggestion, father?"

"My suggestion is you do your job and get us the right away through their property."

"Wanting it isn't gonna make it happen. No matter how many times the two of you say it. He's using Barnes Global's media to stir up an eco temper tantrum."

"Bo's wife, Amy Anderson, runs Barnes Global, doesn't she?"

Pamela says, "Yes she does."

"Well maybe she's the weak link we need. Go through her."

Jeremy says, "What do you think I can do, bulldoze over her? Branch-water is a paramilitary juggernaut with a clandestine operation made up of CIA, FSB and Mossad agents. You think you're gonna find something on her they don't already know?"

"I don't want any excuses. Do whatever has to be done but get the Ewing's out of my way."

Jeremy stands up and walks out of the room.

David looks at Pamela, "You're his wife. You should be able to handle this. Threaten to divorce him. Doing what we want certainly must be cheaper than a divorce."

"My pay out when he ripped the first Barnes Global apart wasn't much different than the value of his sixth of Southfork oil, which he used to set up the Ewing Family Foundation. There's nothing for me to threaten to take, except maybe Southfork and I couldn't get that if I tried."

"What are you talking about, he's worth over forty-eight billion dollars."

"I know what they say. That's all locked up in trust funds for his legitimate children. My children. Just as JR did with Bo's inheritance. Which if he doesn't have any legitimate children will also go to my boys. JR set everything up nice and tight."

"Everyone has a weakness. You can bet on it."

Jeremy and a beautiful blonde roll around in bed together.

"J-Ro," a man who looks just like Drew Ramos calls out as he approaches John Ross, retuning to the stables on horse back.

As John Ross dismounts he says, "Mateo. Everything go smoothly."

"Of course it did. You hired the best didn't you?" Mateo slaps John Ross in the gut. "Who'd have thought all those years ago when my Tia Teresa brought us up here, me and Drew and Elena, and now we're so damn old."

"Drew isn't."

"No he isn't. And I thank you for helping me handle Joaquin. As for Chris and your Aunt Pam. Everything's fine. You have all the patens and he has a trust fund for the two to live off the rest of their lives."

"But what kinda lives, living in hiding?"

"Well from what I saw not a bad life. I tell you, all that technology of his and Wentworth Tool and Die that you're sitting on, for most its worth killing for."

"That's my family you're talking about."

"I'm sorry amigo. But look at what you're doing to the price of oil. You're taking dried plays and squeezing out twice as much more oil sending crew down each time the market opens up. People die for less."

"Rebecca Wentworth. Katherine Wentworth."

"We don't know she's really dead."

"They tried to kill Aunt Pam and Chris. Very nearly did."

"To think, Chris would turn about to be an even bigger threat than Wentworth Tool and Die. What an egghead."

"What I find most fascinating is they manipulated Cliff Barnes for all those years. Scared the hell out of him with Chris."

Mateo laughs, "They did everything they could to get at that little engineer's extraction patents. Probably didn't know half of what he had."

"But they're safe now?"

"Mother and son? Si. Very safe. What about James Beaumont?"

"I set up a trust fund for him and his children."

"And your sister?"

"JR actually took care of her before he died."

"You don't say."

"Apparently my father was a bigamist. Ellie's a legitimate Ewing, I suppose you could say."

"And things going good with Bo?"

"Well, I've got to keep an eye on him, but he's the only family I have left."

"Your mother. Your kids."

"I meant of the Ewings. Never was much to the Shepard side. I wish I could get Pamela to let the boys live here."

"Give it time. They're make up their mind on their own and soon they'll pick Southfork."

"I hope you're right."

Bo sits by the pool in his swim trunks when the blonde from Jeremy's bed walks up from the driveway. Nursing a drink he says, "Well, what brings you home so early?"

"Honestly I'm surprised to find you here. I heard Wendell scooped up Frieburger out from under you. John Ross really wanted it as an oil field services company."

"Yeah well, Amy, I'm sure he knows by now."

"Ewing Oil is pure-play, WestStar is refining and marketing, Ryland midstream. He wants Frieburger to go with it."

"I'm well aware. I've taken in Wendell before. I'm the one that put together the deal to create Bosch Ewing Chemical when Wendell was going after a merger with their chemical division."

Amy chuckles, "Oh I remember that. Julie was pissed. Wendell wouldn't give you the satisfaction, but she couldn't hide it. She'd have slit your throat at the Oil Barons Ball."

"You enjoyed that, ha?"

"Of course. Now this Frieburger deal isn't wrapped up. I expect to see you come out on top and not just take it bent over like a bitch."

"I've got to explain to John Ross where we're at."

"You go in there and you give him your next three moves." She leans over and rubs his crotch. "I married you because we're a like. No one walks all over us and gets away with it. So what is your next move?"

"I don't know. That's why I'm sitting here, trying to wrap my head around it."

"Alright. Let's see what we come up with, together. The deal needs to be stopped either on the CalcoPreston side or Frieburger side."

"CalcoPreston would be a head on assault and brings Pamela into fight."

"Ok so Frieburger."

Bo smiles, "Alright, Frieburger it is. If Nolan Dupuis wants to play, let's play."

Amy sits next to him. "That's good. Go on."

In the living room of South Fork John Ross passes out drinks to Bo and Amy when Sue Ellen walks in with Isabel. "I invited her to dinner. We're working together and I told her that she has a lot in common with Bo, their jobs in investing. Not that we talk business during dinner, but I thought the two of you might talk afterwards, ways to collaborate."

Isabel offers Bo her hand and says, "Yes our portfolios have a lot in common. I heard you were looking at Frieburger. The Foundation has a considerable investment in it and I have a friend or two on the board." The two shake.

As John Ross hands his mother a soda water he says, "We don't discuss business at dinner and the cocktail hour is part of dinner."

"Oh yes, of course. Please forgive me."

"Darlin' with a smile like that I'd forgive you you for causin' an apocalypse. What'll it be?"

"Can you make a Dubonnet Cocktail?"

"Lemon twist?"

"Certainly." Her face lights up.

The Ewing's walk across the entry into the dinning room. Sue Ellen takes Miss Ellie's seat, John Ross Jock's. Bo sits in the middle of one long side of the table and Amy and Isabel the other, Isabel closest to John Ross.

Out on the patio they sit chatting in the twilight. An elderly butler whispers in John Ross's ear and he excuses himself, going into the house. Bo then excuses himself next and walks into the yard. Amy follows. Sue Ellen and Isabell continue to talk about the development of the JR Ewing Cancer Center.

Out by the barn Bo smokes a cigar. Amy comes up and takes it from him, takes a couple drags before handing it back and says, "She seems smitten with your brother."

"She does."

"Maybe she can convince him to give up on Pamela and help with Frieburger."

"Maybe."

Amy takes another drag.

In his study John Ross says to Mateo, "I don't care what shit for brains says, I'll castrate him myself he goes after Pamela."

"They're thinking you keep using those technologies from Wentworth and your cousin Chris, and driving down the price of oil, she's their only alternative."

"Judith Brown taught me how to handle people who go after your loved ones."

"This isn't a drug cartel and you're not going to lock them up so you can pick 'em off one by one."

"I'm not taking a chance with Pamela. I'll pull back on Ewing Oil until I get a handle on this."

"Probably best."

"You get me a handle on this. I want his balls in a vice grip."

On the lawn of a palatial estate in England kids play when a gas erupts choking everyone and leading the kids and their supervisors unconscious. A helicopter lands among the smoke and the kids are picked up and flown away.

John Ross rides horses in Southfork with his boys and Mateo. They talk about a Dallas Cowboys game.

John Ross tucks his boys into bed in the one big bedroom they share. Jay asks, "Why can't we live here at Southfork?"

"Of course you can. This is your home and one day this house will belong to you. There's plenty of property to build houses for you two as well."

Mitch says, "I want my house to be in a tree like our fort, except with a bathroom."

"Well your wife might have something to say about that."

"Yuck."

John Ross and Jay laugh. "Any way. You'll have to go all to your mother when the time comes, but not now. You have to look after her. It would break her heart if you came to live here now. She loves you."

"Why doesn't she love you too?" Steven asks.

"I don't know. But I love you boys too. Unconditionally. Nothing you could ever do or say could ever change that. I love you with all my heart. Now go to sleep."

"Night dad," they all say turning out the lights.

A private jet lands on a private Southfork field. John Ross sets out of a pick up truck to visit the old man getting out of the plane. "I see I got your attention."

"Of course you did."

"Among friends, family is off limits, but you made it clear we're not friends. You know years ago you had some people take Jeremy Wendell. Remember that. Cut off his ear and sent it to his dad. Very effective for the rest of us. Course he would negotiate with thugs. Maybe you used the wrong intermediaries."

"The Club would like to see you."

"I bet they would. Your grandchildren have been returned safe and sound. I don't use intermediaries and I don't harm kids."

"Your message was very clear Mr. Ewing."

"That I know about y'all. Good."

"Your grandfather once belonged to a cartel."

"Except they were just trying to control the price of crude here in Texas."

"We're a bit more ambitious."

"I'll help you control the price of crude but I'm not interested in bein' a puppet like some fat ass king you got."

"We don't work well with others."

"Then we've got a problem. This is Texas. You've got a big problem. Let's agree family is off limits. How about we start there?"

"Alright. We can agree to that. You have my word."

"My father didn't raise no fool. I don't give flying fig about your word." John Ross extends his hands. The two shake. John Ross pulls him in. "My daddy use to say 'Contracts were made to be broken, but a handshake is the law of God.' You just remember you break this agreement and I won't be so kind anymore. Revenge is the single most satisfying feeling in the world and you'd better believe I got the friends to take care of that even from the grave."

"And you'd better believe between you and us is a war that's gonna get pretty nasty."

John Ross releases his grip. "Of that I have no doubt. But my Aunt Pam was the last Ewing you get at."

A man reads a book in his study when a near silent bullet comes through a very thick glass window and penetrates his skull.

John Ross says to the old man by the plane, "Taken me a bit but I made the payment for Chris. We're paid in full on that one. I'd stop runnin' up a tab if I were y'all. The pay-out's a bitch." John Ross gets back in his truck and drives off giving a warm Texas wave.

Bo holds out his hand and says, "Charlie," on the streets near the Capitol in Austin. "Long time no see. How ya doin'?"

A young legislator shakes his hand. "Keeping busy."

"You know we need to have you over to dinner at Southfork. Sue Ellen's been bringing Isabel Wendell over, she's a beautiful little thing and single. Make an aspiring politician a fine wife. I'm just say'." Bo chuckles. "You keeping it together for me, right? I heard you meet with Jeremy Wendell."

The man attempts to speak.

"No don't worry about that. I'm sure you're doing your best. I'm serious about the diner invite and Isabel. Google her. She's a Wendell and a DelSol. Do you some good." Bo pats him on the shoulder.

Sue Ellen greets Pamela outback of Southfork as she picks up the boys. She offers her some ice tea. Pamela excepts and they sit down, watching the boys continue to swim. Pamela says, "Sorry I'm late. Where's John Ross?"

"He had a meeting he sId couldn't be missed. He'll be back soon. Why don't you stay for supper?"

"I'd rather not."

"It would be nice, with the boys, all together."

"But we're not altogether."

"No you're not." Sue Ellen pours the tea. "I just love having them here. It brings this place to life and they all get along so well. And somehow I don't think Bo and Amy will ever have any children."

In the pool the younger boys jump all over their brother congratulating him on winning the race.

Pamela says, "No. Well knowing those two the child is better off."

Sue Ellen laughs, "I suppose so. I hear you've got another business dealing putting you and John Ross in each other's way again."

"Again? Of yes, I guess so, again. He's always somewhere behind what's going on. He just uses Bo and Amy as his generals but you'd better believe he's orchestrating the maneuvers."

"I really don't think so. He ordered them to settle this as soon as possible. Then it gets brought up your company is trying to out maneuver them with some field service business, a company John

Ross use to work fir back when he and Elena were wildcatting."

"That was David's move. Far as I know the deal's done. Not that I agree with it. We don't need it. His issue is if Ewing Industries gets it we can no longer use them and we've already got too many contracts with Frieburger. John Ross has a construction company too that's always the lowest bidder in our projects but David won't d even consider using them."

"What for a grudge carried over from their father's?"

"Bobby and JR did lock Jeremy Wendell up in prison."

"The State of Texas locked him up, for crimes he committed against this family."

"David says he was framed. I don't know and I don't care. All I know is when it comes to the Ewings he behaves in a financially irresponsible manner. Still I manage to pull the highest margins in the industry and CalcoPreston's market cap is far more than what Ewing Industries is worth."

"So why running a giant energy giant is he worried about a little business like Ewing Oil except for some perceived grudge?"

"Well first of all Ewing Oil is just a part of Ewing Industries and Ewing Industries is growing rapidly in all sorts of businesses. Second, what the Ewing Brothers have is a staggering fortune. Davids worth less than a tenth of John Ross. And to what's probably simple jealousy, the issue with David's father is very real. He believes the Ewings stepped on his father to get where they are."

"Well that certainly was the game His father signed up for."

"True. It's the game my father played to, until he was a dangerous old man. And I owe Bobby a great deal for locking him up where his money couldn't save him."

"It's fortunate Elena went to you instead of getting him out when she had the chance."

"Fortune for her. I'd have killed her if she let him out. He killed my babies. Any ally of Cliff Barnes is an enemy of mine."

"I can certainly see that. That was an awful time. But John Ross was there for you."

"Yes he was. He saved my life. I'd honestly be dead right now if not for him. I fell in love with him."

"How was he suppose to know?"

"I told him."

"Well it's not like his father and I gave him much when it came to words to count on."

"Listen Sue Ellen, I know you know what it feels like to be betrayed, so I'm not going to insult you. But business comes before me, before everything with John Ross."

"That's not true. He's always with his boys. He drops everything for them."

"Where is he now?"

"That's different. You're late and it was an important meeting and it seldom if ever had happened before. You ask those boys. You ask them if John Ross puts them first. They'll tell you. They also tell me you don't. I love you like my own daughter Pamela but so help me it's the truth. They say they're with Constance more than you. Believe me I did the same thing to John Ross. I did that to him. And for what? None of it mattered."

Pamela studies her and than looks at her boys still playing.

Sue Ellen continues, "John Ross loves you. And since, since you ODed he hasn't been with another woman and we're talking years. He honestly didn't think you loved him. But when you . . . He said you must love him, because you're the only person he ever hurt. JR and I would get mad at him. Bobby and him would have yelling matches. Elena Ramos just ran back to Chris. You, he hurt. And you won't even admit it. When you thought your mother died, you came right here to this house and that night Steven and Mitch were conceived. Then you went right back to holding your grudge. Protecting yourself."

Without looking at Sue Ellen, Pamela stands and walks over to her boys, explaining to them they're gonna stay at Southfork for awhile, she's got work to do. The boys are excited, but than Jay picks up his momma's hurt. He follows her out to the car but she insists she's fine. She drives away leaving him sopping wet standing in the driveway.

On a private jet Any yells at Bo, "What do you mean John Ross just gave her the right away?"

"She sent a letter from her office to his making the request."

"And he just did it?"

"Yes. Of come on. What did you think was going to happen. She asks him to back off Frieburger and he will."

"Half this company is yours. How about you stand up to him?"

"Oh really. You know the trusts as well as I do. I maybe the beneficiary to half the company but he's in control. So there's no say so I have. And even if there was I'm not gonna fight my brother over his wife."

"Wife? She hadn't been a wife since long before you and I got married!"

"That's none of your business."

"No you're right. It's none of my business." Amy stands up and leaves, closing the door to the back room behind her.

Sue Ellen walks on the grounds of a hospital complex in Dallas talking with some people including Isabel about the JR Ewing Cancer Center when David walks up behind them. "Sue Ellen Ewing. How wonderful it is to see you. Isabel's told me she's working with you. I couldn't be more pleased." The two kiss cheeks. "You know I've been meaning to stop by and see you. You could do me a huge favor. I've talked to Carrie hear about financing the Jeremy Wendell Cardiovascular Center and I know of no one better qualified to handle the money for me."

"You're really talking about donated to the Ewing Foundation?"

"Well not as much as to the hospital directly, just that you could over see the project for me. The particulars."

"Well I suppose I could. That's extremely generous of you."

"Well I can't take it with me."

"This is true."

"I was in London last week on business and ran into Lord Maitland," turning to Isabel he says, "That was Sue Ellen's second husband, Don Lockwood. A man of many talents."

"And how was Don?" Sue Ellen asks.

"Hanging in there. Still single as well. The things you do to us men, Sue Ellen. I suppose I should be glad we've only shared a few meals together."

"I'm sure Don's just fine without me."

"No man is just find without you. I'm sorry, though, I should let you get back to your meeting. Please call me about that cardiovascular center. I am serious."

"I will." The two again kiss cheeks and part ways. Sue Ellen then wonders what brought him up to the hospital.

Isabel says, "So do I."

Note: above I said David's youngest son was Mateo but as John Ross's friend is Mateo Ramos. I'm changing his name to Arturo Wendell.

John Ross gathers at his hole in the wall dive bar when Mateo comes in and sits down next to him. "How's it going?"

"Good. Very good," John Ross answers. I just put the boys to bed. Pamela left them."

"Really. Why? What's up?"

"My mom said she came over and just left, saying she had business."

"Nothing more? Like when she'll be back?"

"Nothing."

"That's strange. Say is that Arturo Wendell over there?"

"Looks like it."

"Bit out of his neck of the woods wouldn't you say?"

"Yea. I would." Just then another man about John Ross's age sits down on his other side. "Hey, Nate. You remember my friend Mateo? Mateo you remember Nathan Cohen?"

"Oh yes. Your roommate in boarding school. What brings you to Dallas?"

"Just popped in to see an old friend. I hear you're ruffling some fathers."

"Nate's good at keeping his ear to the ground. You heard any responses?"

"You do realize the plan right now is to drive down the price of oil. You're doing exactly what they want?"

"Putting the screws to oil rich countries that aren't exactly falling in line," John Ross states.

"Something like that. But no I haven't heard any specifics."

"John Ross," Arturo says behind them.

John Ross turns. "Arturo. What brings you on this side of the tracks?"

"Might say the same about you."

"This is Southfork property."

Looking around Arturo chuckles, "I hope your mother did a better job decorating the house."

"Nice of you to worry about me."

"Anytime buddy." They watch Arturo walk out wit two young girls, one on each arm.

Nathan says, "That boy's gonna be his family's weak link."

In Houston hotel room a muscular man in his forties walks out of the bathroom in a hotel, black hair wet and slicked back. Bo says, "I thought we had a deal."

Startled the man yells, "What the hell. Bo. What are you doing here?"

"Evening Nolan."

"What hell are you doing here. How'd you get in?"

"We had a deal. I helped you out with your little problem and you and I were friends. Then I found out you gone and become David Wendell's bitch."

"Get out of my room!"

"Call down stairs. Have me thrown out. Call the Houston police. Go ahead. Spelled B O A Z E W I N G."

"Just leave will you? Please."

"Please? So what's David got on you?"

"Nothing. It's a better deal. That's all. Cash and stock. Upper the offer."

"I see. You didn't feel the need to talk to me about this and I'm suppose to believe David Wendell has nothing on you. How am I suppose to help you if you don't tell me the truth. You're still gonna need your board to approve the deal and you don't think I'm just gonna release my players, do ya?"

"Please Bo. I can't. Please."

Bo stands and rubs the man's chest. If you don't want me as your friend then there's nothing I can do to help you. You brought this on yourself. Haven't I tried to help you?"

"Yes." The man looks down.

"I got you help. Good help. You been good for a year now. Haven't you?"

"Yes."

"So why betray me? I paid everyone off. I made everything go away. And you won't be honest with me." Nolan goes over to his desk and hands him his phone. Bo looks at it. "Shit. How old's this?"

"Over a year. I swear."

"You're one hell of a messed up dude. I don't know what to tell you. I'm just glad you're not my family."

"Please Bo. Please. You helped me before. Please. I don't know how he got a hold of that."

Bo rubs his cheek, "I'm sorry Nolan. Really I am. You've got no way out of this. You know that."

Nolan shakes his head yes.

Bo kisses his cheek and walks out of the room.

A television news reporter says, "The Chairman and CEO of French field services company Frieburger, Nolan Dupuis, was found hung in his Houston hotel room today. Authorities have ruled his death a suicide. Dupuis was in America on business."

Amy gets out of bed, naked, and walks toward the bathroom. Jeremy sits up and says, "How do you know it was me?"

From the bathroom she calls out, "Bo explained the video to me, one he hadn't shown to Dupuis yet. But one I had backed up on my lap top."

"And you think I stole it from you?"

Stepping back into the doorway Amy looks him over. "We don't have the kind of relationship which requires proof. And I'm as aware as you our about me, that you can easily be replaced. I was stupid not to think you weren't looking for more. Well you got it. That won't happen again."

"This doesn't have to end."

"Yes it does. You've come to bore me anyway. But I can promise you this, I'm a patient woman. When I get my chance, and I will, I'll make sure I'll get one up in you." She closes the bathroom door.

David peeks in Pamela's office. "You're in early."

"The boys are with there father."

"Oh I see. So the Darnell pipelines a done deal I heard."

"Without much time to spare. I'm guessing your deal for Frieburger is dead right along with Nolan Dupuis."

"I'm putting Jeremy on it now that the pipeline's handled. He put together the deal with Dupuis in the first place."

"I'm still opposed to the deal. There's no point in it. There are plenty of other field services deals. Besides you'd better watch making these moves to avoid the Ewings that are costing this company money. The board gets wind of what you've been doing, you'll have a hell of a fight."

"I can handle the board. Don't you worry about me." David walks down the hall and into his office to find Jeremy waiting.

"I told you to move quickly. You have the Ewings long enough to figure things out. Now we not only lost the deal, I've lost my contact with in the family."

"Were not out yet. We've come far enough along to finalize the deal."

"Don't bet on it."

"Don't bet against me. I'll get the approval."

In his office Bo meets with Nasir Ali, the Arab Prince John Ross had been in business with years ago when attempting to shore up the Arctic drilling rights. Bi hands him a drink and sits down on the sofa facing him. "Sad about Nolan," the man says.

"Was. I tried everything I could to help him. I was even working out a deal to buy Frieburger and for him to retire. Things had been going so well."

"You don't know what drive him to it?"

"No. Why would we."

"After what I shared with you, I figured you might have been involved with him."

"I was. You know that. I was getting him help. He was a lot more troubled than you knew. Barnes Global has news operatives all over the world, revival Hoovers FBI days. And all of that makes it to Amy's desk. She came across stuff that would make you sick."

"I told you I knew some of it." Nasir gets up and sits next to Bo, right against him, puts his hand on his leg and says, "Don't worry. He's at peace now."

"I'm not worried about him, not now anyway. I'm worried about my Frieburger deal. I can still count on you, on Frieburger's board?"

"Of course you can. But what if John Ross figures out I'm working with you?"

"He knows."

"What? You can't tell after what happened with Pamela . . ."

"I told him it was a set up. You never had an affair with her."

"How much did you tell him?"

"That you're gay and if it gets back to you're country . . ."

"There's worse then loosing being next in line to the thrown."

"This is true. So as for your county's oil leases. I'm going to send some people over there from Ewing Oil and Frieburger once this deal with them goes through. I expect you'll make them feel welcome."

Nasir looks at him with anger.

Bo stands up and walks over to his desk.

Pamela steps into Arturo's office and says, "So the Darnell pipeline's wrapped up."

"How'd you manage that?"

"I just asked John Ross."

"Helps to be married to the guy that owns the company because there was no way we were ever going to get around them."

Pamela sets in and closes the door. "We've talked about this before. Your father's playing a dangerous game with the Ewings. The board figures out he's only investing in Frieburger to keep it from them, they're not going to be happy. And anything we put up for big, a Ewing company always comes in lowest bidder and he always over looks it."

"Are you saying he's to the point the board might get rid in him?"

"Getting there. And I'd I'd want to see Jeremy go right along with him."

"I assume you'd go after his job."

"I've got three billion dollars tied up in this company. I don't intend to watch some board coup diminish that."

"My trust fund's got another three hundred million in CalcoPreston shares. When my grandfather lost West Star he began investing in Preston. He knew the Preston's, bought up Harwood, StoneHurst, Lee, a bunch of the old timers, while in prison. I don't intend to watch my father run it into the ground to wage some war against the Ewings."

"So you'll help me if the time comes and I need anything?"

"Sure. I hate that old man. He never gave a damn about me. Doesn't care about Jeremy either, but he's still holding out hope."

"And Isabell?"

"She'd agree with me but you can't count on her. My mother, now you can count on her. I don't know what help shed be. Any of his x-wives."

"When you were kidnapped . . . "

"He didn't give a damn. He was more worried about having to pay out."

"I'm so sorry Arturo. Really I am."

"What made you go into business with him?"

"When John Ross bought me out of Barnes Global I bought into an IT company and expanded it, mostly in the energy sector. It's where I had the contacts. Then I sold it to Calco and went to work for them. Before I knew it I had most everything tied up in the company and they were merging with Preston. I think your father thought it was a bonus to get me."

"You mean because you both have it in for your husband."

"Something like that."

"So you really think the time is near to oust my father."

"Yes I do."

"Good. Then I want a front row seat when you do."

Early in the morning John Ross meets in his study with several executives. He thanks them and walks them out the back where his mom and the boys have breakfast by the pool. He goes over and fixes himself a plate.

Sue Ellen says, "You were up early."

"I told them we'd have to meet before the boys got up so I could have breakfast with them before they go to school."

"Could you have meet while they were at school?"

"No. I've got other meets. Plus driving them to school. It'll be fine. So boys, another exciting day at school."

They chat as Bo and Amy come out of the back of the house and join them.

Sue Ellen waves goodbye to John Ross and the boys as they drive down the driveway. Bo and Amy take off in a helicopter from the back yard.

In their room Amy helps Bo tie his bow tie.

Sue Ellen walks down the curved staircase the finishing touches are applied and opens the door to some old friends.

The cocktail hour at Southfork has the house filled with old friends and family as Lucy and John Ross hug and John Ross and Mitch shake hands. John Ross asks after California and Lucy announces all is well with everyone.

Then Margret steps up and John Ross couldn't me more thrilled. "Lucy, have you ever meet Margret Krebs? Ray and Donna's daughter."

"No I haven't. I've meet Lucas a few times but we've never meet. I'm Lucy the oldest grandchild. I've known your mom and dad a very long time."

"I invited Uncle Ray and Jenna as well. And Aunt Donna, but they've all declined. And Uncle Bobby and Aunt Ann too, but, well."

"After what this place does to you,"'Lucy says. Can't really blame anyone."

"It's not this place that's done anything. It's the people who've lived here. Bo and I don't fight," John Ross says.

"Give it time." Lucy chuckles.

Margaret looks perplexed. "Really. Because I must agree with John Ross. I've heard all the stories and my mother is certainly bias against JR, but like I told her, if my father handed Lucas and me a will like that, well it isn't gonna happen. We would do it. Same with John Ross. Someone around here always taking the high and mighty approach. I told Uncle Bobby if it made John Ross feel better to burn this place to the ground, I'd have burned it to the ground. Family comes first."

"And what about how Uncle Bobby feels about Southfork?"

"The material object of Southfork should come before John Ross's feelings. And Uncle Bobby certainly could have shared it. It just couldn't all be his way. That's why he sold his half to John Ross, 'cause he didn't want to share. Fighting over sharing."

"And John Ross started a great many of those fights."

"Pish posh. The fight over the oil on this land, how awful. This country in need of an good source of crude, easy to get at, and the answer Uncle Bobby has is leave it in the ground. If he didn't want the money there are certainly plenty of charities. In fact from what I've seen Uncle Bobby and your father both have kept the money. The only one to give it away for the greater good is John Ross."

Sue Ellen appears and says, "Margret. How are you sweetheart? And is this your date?"

"Sue Ellen. I'm wonderful. Thank you." The two hug and kiss. "Yes. This is Captain Ryan Douglas."

Noticing his uniform, "Welcome to Southfork Captain Douglas. Are you related to Senator Doulas by any chance?"

"Yes. He's my father. Very nice to meet you Mrs. Ewing."

"What an honor to have you in our home." She grabs his arm and bulls him away, "You'll have to tell me, are you and Margret seeing each other?"

Bo and Amy welcome Isabel to Southfork. "I bet your daddy have a thousand fit, he knew you were here before the Oil Barons Ball."

"He probably would. Bo, Amy, this is Doctor Bertie Cryder. Bertie, Bo and Amy Ewing."

"Hello Bo. Nice to meet you. And of course I've known Amy for ever. Marv's daughter. Your grandpa, Punk, was a bit of a legion around here, along with Jock Ewing."

"So I hear. We use to see each other at one event or another. Last I heard you were in Boston, medical school."

"Long time ago. I've been back in Dallas couple months now. After medical school I was in Detroit. Isabel recruited me as head of the JR Ewing Cancer Center."

"Fantastic."

Everyone arrives and mingles at the Oil Barons Ball. John Ross and Sue Ellen run into President and Mrs. Bush. He then leaves his mother to organize the opening speeches. Walking up to the bar he puts his hands on the shoulders of two men about his age. "Bradley, Culver. What'll it be?"

"Ewing! They say turning around to greet him. How ya doin'?" The three hug.

"Doing just fine. Just fine. Bo come here. I ever introduce you to Justin Bradley and Dan Culver? Old friends from here in Texas, way back from my elementary days. Been a long time boys. Where's Mark Gillis? He around?"

"Not that I know of John Ross. I think he's still down in Houston."

"Glad we could pull you away from Washington. Dan here's a Congressman. From west Texas. He's got the old Southern Cross. Well you know Justin, works for Leland Bancorp. Suppose the two of you had many a dealing together all ready. I tell you Justin, best thing I ever did is get my brother to move on out here."

"Yes he certainly knows how to get what he wants."

The Wendell's are gathering around their table, Jeremy and Arturo escorting gorgeous young models. Jeremy holds out a seat for Pamela. Isabel approaches with Bertie.

Sue Ellen takes the podium. "Thank you. And next I'd like to introduce my son, John Ross Ewing the third."

John Ross takes the stage. "Hope y'all enjoyed your Southfork beef. Except you Izzy. I know your a vegetarian. Can says I understand it and sure glad the rest of y'all aren't, I'd go broke. But I can't tell ya how much this event means to me every year, and to get to award these fine young people a chance to study and us to honor them and all their hard work. I get to announce to y'all fine people the Jock Ewing Memorial Scholarships, which each year are awarded to four young oil persons in the making to study geology at Southern Methodist University and the Chris Ewing Memorial Scholarships, which are awarded to four future engineers to study all the that engineering stuff like my cousin at SMU. I want to thank all of you, my family and my friends, for showing up tonight and letting me celebrate the life of my grandpa and my best friend."

Isabel asks John Ross to dance. Out on the dance floor she says, "What a touching speech. You and your cousin were pretty close."

"Yeah well we had our fights but we were best friends. No doubt about it. Miss him a lot. We fought over everything, the Ewing legacy, girls."

"Girls?"

"There was this one girl. He knew I liked her. Soon as I told him he was all over her. I went back to school and he's cozying up to her. Well eventually I hear they break up and he's left Texas and her and I were wildcatting together. I flew all the way to China to meet with him. He's telling me it's over, to go for it, that he never really cared for her, so I go for it. Her and I eventually get engaged. We have a fight and he jumps back in her. Couldn't have loved rubbing it in my face more."

"What happened to this girl?"

"After Chris died she went back home. Haven't heard from her."

"You still have feelings for her?"

"Honestly I don't think I ever did anymore that Chris did. Just got caught up in things. And Pamela, my wife, you know Chris was married to her first?"

"So I've heard. At each other's throats I heard. A little much don't you think, marrying cousins."

"Not biological. She really loved him. I tell you. She . . . "

"It's OK John Ross. It's OK." Isabel holds him close.

Pamela says to Jeremy, noticing John Ross, "I think I'm ready to leave."

"Sure thing."

In the back of their limousine Jeremy puts his hand on Pamela's knee. She what's it off with her purse. "Cut it out."

"I thought this time with John Ross obviously not spending the night alone."

"Shut up." His hand back on her leg, running up her dress, leaning in to kiss her neck. She gets up and sits in the other side. "I swear if you don't stop, I'll kick you out if this car and you kind find a way home."

"What are you saving yourself for? He's obviously headed somewhere with my sister. You don't want him or you'd be with him. Come on. Isn't it time you moved on?"

"If you think playing mind games is going to work with me, you really are as stupid as your father says."

"What?"

"You know how hard on you he is." Pamela grins.

Out front of the Four Seasons the Ewing's say good buy to Lucy, Mitch, Margret and Captain Douglas who are staying at the hotel. Sue Ellen inquires and Margret assures her of separate rooms. Bo mentions being dropped off at the office, still having to go over the financials to up the offer on Frieburger. She gives him a sly look.

Arturo and both his and his father's date enter a hotel room all over each other.

John Ross and Sue Ellen drop Bo and Amy off at the offices of Ewing Industries and John Ross tells them to get some rest at some point.

Up stairs in their office they go over the financials of the deal. Amy stating at one point, "How can he justify this offer to his board. This is absurd."

Bo's personal assistant brings in a try with coffee.

Amy thanks him and pours a cup, handing it to Bo. She then grabs the man's ass. He makes a startled face. She asks Bo to, "come here." Puzzled he does. She puts his hands on the man's crotch and says, "I think you need a break."

John Ross runs down stairs in the middle of the night, Sue Ellen following him, "There's been an explosion at section 40."

"An oil rig?"

"Yes. The fire's spreading."

"I thought there wasn't any drilling on Southfork."

"Isn't."

John Ross grabs a hose and helps the ranch hands battle the blaze. Mateo joins in. John Ross yell, "Tell those men to back up. We don't want any heroics. Where's that damn helicopter!"

John Ross showers, covered in shoot he lathers up.

Down stairs Bo says, "How the hell does a capped well explode?"

Amy and Sue Ellen wait for the answer.

Nathan says, "It doest. Someone did it."

"But why?" Sue Ellen asks. "John Ross could have died but no one could have known he'd be out there himself. They're getting at the oil from the Henderson property. It seems like a lot for just a prank."

"It wasn't just a prank. And it sure did get John Ross's attention."

John Ross walks into the living room, "so who's the calling card from? Barnes? Ryland? Wendell?"

Nolan tells him, "You got a longer list than that."

"You figure it out, will ya? I'm gonna check on everyone. Couple of the guys first on the scene got hurt pretty bad. Mateo's up at the hospital now. Let me know who to send the thank you card to." He walks out the back of the house.

Amy says, "Its just too close. Right here on Southfork."

"That's the idea."

Sue Ellen asks, "What about Nicholas Trevino? John Ross said he killed Chris."

"No. Not him. No doubt he's dead."

"Are you sure?"

"He killed Mateo's brother. You don't kill a man like that's family and think you'll survive it."

"You're says no John Ross's friend, Mateo Ramos, killed him?"

"Im says Mateo Ramos is certain he's dead."

Bo asks, "OK then who? Who started the fire?"

David Wendell gets into his private plan and finds the old man John Ross meet with on the Southfork landing field. "Can I help you?"

"Sit down Mr. Wendell."

"I'm afraid I don't know you."

"Andrew Negley."

"What is it you want Mr. Negley?"

"First of all let's establish a relationship. You're the Chairman and CEO of CalcoPreston. My agent, Paul McMullen, sits on your board. He tells me you're got issues with the Ewings that have lead to some decisions that could lead to you being removed. Then theirs debt accumulation. Including some things you managed to keep off the books." Andrew tosses his an envelope.

David looks through it and sits down. "OK. You've got my attention."

Andrew nods to the man behind David. The door is pulled up and the plan gets ready to take off.

Bo is shown into Pamela's office. He says, "You know the details of the Frieburger offer?" As he sits down.

"Come to your point Bo."

"Instead of me countering the offer, how about I go to your board one by one and deliver my analysis?"

"Why would the board of CalcoPreston listen to you?"

"I don't care if they listen. What I want is for them to dig. Soon as they do this blows up in your face. It's a bad offer. And you know it."

"I'm not the one recommending it to the board."

Bo leans back with a smile. "Oh I gotcha. Give David enough rope to hang himself. I see. So I'd be doing you a favor by spreading the word of where to look?"

"I didn't say that."

"Oh I'm willing to do you a favor. You're family. I bet you can help me. I get you control of CalcoPreston, you help me get control of Ewing Industries."

"What makes you think I can do that?"

Bo smiles.

After diner the Ewing's walk out onto the back porch and down into the yard. John Ross gets a bomb fire going then the boys jump up and down for songs. He picks up his guitar and they all sing along.

Eventually Bo and Amy make they're excuses. John Ross talks about taking the boys to bed. Sue Ellen insists she will. John Ross is left with Isabel.

"You've got a nice life here," Isabel says.

""I've seen your dad's place. A lot grander than this. I'm sure you can't smell the horses and cows."

"No that's true." Isabel laughs. "It's not as nice though. My father lives there alone. You've got your mom and the boys. Your brother and his wife. It's pretty nice."

"You live in the same building as Pamela?"

"Yeah. So do my brothers. We all have our own place though."

"That's nice."

"Not really."

"You don't like living alone?"

"Well, John Ross, no I don't. I like that Sue Ellen invites me here for dinner more often than not."

"I do too."

"May I be direct?"

"Shoot."

"Why did you marry Pamela?"

"That is blunt."

"Sorry. You don't have to answer."

"It is a complicated answer. The short answer is we teamed up in business and she betrayed me for Chris. So if we were going to try it again, I wanted a more binding agreement."

"Marriage?"

"Yes. She agreed."

"What's the long story?"

"I assumed she loved Chris. Always had. Turns out she was in love with me. I've done a lot of stupid stuff in my life but I never hurt anyone. I lied to a girl I was engaged to and she didn't care. She got mad, but it was an excuse to get rid of me and go back to Chris. I don't think I ever mattered to anyone but her. And I hurt her."

"I assume you had an affair."

"How'd you guess?"

"You didn't think she loved you. A lonely way to exist."

"It wasn't so much of an affair as it was selling myself for business. Well not so much business as to look out for my family. I did what I had to do and my family's safer because if it."

"I see."

"It's my turn. How is one of the most beautiful and refined women I've ever meet not only single but taken to spending all her time with a little old lady, a married man and his young three kids and the truly most bizarre couple?"

Isabel chuckles. "They are unusual. I'm not sure what to make of those two."

"Make no mistake, they are very close. They have a partnership, I've never seen. I can tell you this, they put each other first. I'd doubt there's a secret of any kind between them. And they're very encouraging of each other. But you're avoiding the question. You don't have to answer it."

"The short answer, my parents and grandparents had so many marriages between them, it hardly seems worth it, the pretending."

"You don't have to be married to be with someone."

"That's true. And you don't have to be lonely just because you're married."

"So the longer story?"

Laughing, "Oh another time. I don't really want to get into that tonight."

"OK. You know you're welcome to stay. We have a guest bedroom. The boys share a room. We always had a rule in this house, add on it you have to, but make room for everyone."

"I'd like that. Thank you."

In the morning everyone comes out of the house, one by one, to sit by the pool for breakfast. Sue Ellen says surprised to see Isabel, "Morning."

"Good morning. John Ross let me stay in the guest room last night. Sweet of him. I had my house keeper bring over a change of clothes. Thought it be a bit inappropriate to walk around in the same outfit as yesterday."

"Oh I'm not judging."

"Is he still in bed?" Isabel asks.

"Oh no. Up ages ago. He had his meetings before breakfast so he can start the day off with the kids. They all eat and talk in his study long before the crack of down."

The boys come running out of the house together. Shortly their after John Ross appears from the study.

"Morning everyone. Beautiful day."

"Isn't it," Sue Ellen says with a grin.

Bo and Amy come out next surprised to see Isabel. Sue Ellen responds, "She was here so late last night, John Ross offered her the guest room."

"Oh did he." Amy smirks.

"Yes he did," John Ross declares. John Ross tosses Bo the Wall Street Journal. "CalcoPreston's Frieburger deal is off. The board voted it down and publicly questioned David Wendell's running of the company."

"Well, well. Good for them."

"Now you can get it for us."

"Will do."

Sue Ellen says, "No business at the table. But um, you know you boys keep pushing and you're only making things worse with Isabel's father."

"It's OK Sue Ellen. My father would blame the Ewings for anything that went wrong whether they had anything to do with it or not."

Jay says, "You know dad. I was thinking. I don't need to go to school. I can learn more by handing around you. I mean what do I need all that stuff for. I just need to know how to run the business. I could go in with Uncle Bo today."

Bo says, "Ewing Industries is on six continents, invested in things like newspapers and oil fields. You need to learn everything from reading comprehension and geology. Exercise your brain. Cover it all."

"Jay, I'm glad you want to run the company one day, but you're Uncle's right. There's so much to learn. You can't just pick it up hanging around here. Your best place to get ready to run the company is in school."

Bo continues, "And when you're done for the day you should be exhausted. Your brain tingling. That's how you know you had a work out. If not, let your dad know. We'll find you a harder school."

"I don't know I want that Uncle Bo."

They all laugh.

Steven says, "Can I run the company after Jay?"

"I thought you were gonna be a horse campion like your cousin Emma."

"Oh yeah. I forgot."

Jay says, "See, Steven's already winning ribbons. When do I get to start doing something with the company."

"Alight. Tomorrow morning. You be down by six. You can sit in my morning meetings."

"OK. I'll be there."

Amy sits up in bed with Arturo. "So you're saying someone spoke to key people on the board and they're going over every deal with a fine tooth comb."

"My father's playing at plugging holes but there are too many. I'd be surprised if he stays CEO by the end of the week."

"I want you to talk to a reporter for Barnes Global."

"I don't think so."

"Anonymous."

"No way. I'm out of this. I'm just sitting back waiting to see Pamela take over all surprised and innocent."

"You mean Pamela's been whispering in the board's ear?"

"No. Not Pamela. No more than I would. She's just in the right place at the right time. And I plan on following her."

"I see. I wonder who's behind this?"

"So do I. I think Pamela knows but it's just a guess on my part."

"Well, very interesting." Amy rolls over on top of him and they begin to go at it again.

Amy walks into Bo's office and says, "The Wendell's have no idea you're behind the board room coup."

Pamela picks the boys up from school and drives to the equestrian school dropping off Steven. She tells him she'll be right back after she drops off her brothers. At the gun range Jay reminds her he has a competition thus weekend. She assures him it's in her planner.

In the car alone with Mitch he asks, "Are you and daddy gonna get a divorce?"

"What? No. Why? Did someone say something?"

"Kids at school said you're divorced and I told them you're not. And last night Isabel spent the night. I don't want her to be my mother."

"She's not going to be your mother. No worries Mitch. I'm always going to be your mom."

"Can I move back in with you?"

"Of course you can. But what about your brothers."

"I don't know. Steven just wants to be on the ranch and Jay is gonna start going to daddy's meetings in the morning."

"Oh I see." She walks him up to the pool for his lessons.

Later dropping the boys off at Southfork she says asks to speak to John Ross alone.

Out by the garage she says, "I hear Isabel's taken to spending the night."

"What? Just last night. She was here late. And she slept in the guest room."

"Where did you sleep."

"Since it hadn't been with you for five years, I'd say that's none of your business."

"If want a divorce John Ross ask for one."

"No I don't want a divorce. And no I didn't sleep with her. In fact I spent a lot of time tacking about you."

"Oh so now I'm the bitch."

"I didn't say that. Do you want a divorce?"

"I told you I wasn't going to divorce you, but do what I want."

"I know you're not sleeping with anyone."

"How would you know that. I'd be far more discreet than having him spent the night with my children around."

"Cut it out. Every time you're out in the town you're with Jeremy Wendell and I know the two of you hate each other."

"And how would you know that?"

"It's what I do. I know everything that goes on in this town. Just like I know your affair with Prince Nasir was a lie."

"A lie. Please. You saw us, just like I had to see you."

"He's gay Pamela. Can you please drop the act. How long does this have to go on? What more can I do to prove I love you? I offered you Barnes Global. You didn't want it. It gave you a check for over three billion dollars for your shares and another three billion in trust for your father's shares. What more can I do? I helped put the man who killed your babies in prison. I took care of you when you were sick. I'm always here for you. What? What Pamela?"

"Get the vision of you and Emma out of my brain."

"I asked her to leave Texas. I even made sure Nicholas was gone for sending them."

"You know what happened to Nicolas Trevino?"

"He's gone Pamela."

"And Elena?"

"She's gone. I set up a trust fund for Chris's son and she left. Please tell me what more you want that I can do."

"There isn't anything."

"I love you Pamela. You might not believe it, and I know you love me. I know you nearly died for me. But that wasn't what I wanted. I just wanted you to go to diner with me that's all." John Ross turns and walks away. Pamela watches him until he goes into the house. She then gets in the car and leaves.

Bo swims laps in the pool when Amy steps up to the edge in her bikini. After catching his breath she squats down and says to him, "You pulled off I here. Ewing Industries will acquire Frieburger and at the same time you've got David Wendell frightening for his survival."

John Ross said it's the last piece of our father's master piece." Bo pulls himself out of the pool.

"Which part, Frieburger or Wendell."

"Frieburger. I don't think he thought much of David Wendell. He did tell John Ross that they're be other gunning for us besides Barnes and Ryland." Bo dries himself off.

"That goes without saying. I can't believe your father spent all these years putting this together and destroying old enemies, that he wouldn't think of Wendell."

"According to John Ross he never even mentioned him. But apparently there's someone else."

"Who?"

"Hasn't said, just that he's got bigger enemies to worry about and that he's sure I can handle Wendell, but to handle David and his kids together. No sense leaving another generation to come after us."

"He's got a point." Amy dives in the pool.

John Ross comes out of his bathroom in a towel and finds a letter on his pillow. He opens it. The paper is JR's stationary. He reads it aloud, "Dear John Ross,

I can't tell you how proud I am at you completing my master piece. It might have been my game plan but it was your journey. Taught you everything about business didn't I?

Taught you things I never bothered to learn from my daddy, like how to make friends. Carlos and Bum about the only two friends I ever had and kept them to myself. I can only imagine the grief they are giving you, but you can rely on them.

How about the friends you made along the way? I told you Judith Brown would be forever on your side if you take care of that granddaughter of hers and put down her son. Margret Krebs and Mateo Ramos, only ones in their respective families worth a dam. Amy Anderson, love to have been around to see how you handled her. Your friend Nathan Cohen, another great asset. Pamela Barnes, when you sweet talked her out of her father's grudge and from being shunned by Christoper, coming in and handing her Barnes Global, minus the pieces I told you to keep, loved to have seen it. And your brother, bringing him home. I promised your loyalist ally with him. I don't need to go on, do I? I'm proud of you boy. Tip to tail your my daddy's spitting image. You out done the teacher.

Now I have one last issue and the world is yours. The Wendell's. You might want to sit down. This list is long. I'll go over each one starting with Jeremy Wendell, Sr." John Ross sits on the edge of the bed.

Early in the morning in his study he meets with Mateo and Nathan and a third person. He explains the letter and his choice to hand the Wendell's off to Bo. He than says, "But what my father didn't foresee are the people who expect my cooperation in controlling the price of crude. The people who killed Rebecca Wentworth and scrambled Aunt Pam's brains. Probably Katherine Wentworth's too if anyone can find her. Scared the shit out of Cliff Barnes. The people who approached Nicholas Trevino to off Christoper. Those are the people I'm worried about. I want these patents that are so important to them rounded up into a holding company, Energy Technology Innovation. ETI. I want this company to lease the various technologies back to Ewing companies and use the money to build kick ass labs. But most importantly I don't want any of this connected to Pamela or my kids. I want it going to the Ewing Foundation and I want control of that Foundation by people who aren't gonna want to kill me and my brother. People who can handle themselves. People like the three of you. Me. My mother. Judith Ryland. Margret Krebs."

David steps into Pamela's office, "Looks like the the board will take up the issue of you as CEO. Leave me as chairman for the time being. That needn't change anything as long as we still share the same goal."

"And what goal would that be?"

"To get at the Ewing's."

"I don't see how that's possible any longer. We've watch Ewing Industries come out of no where and do pretty much what they want."

"I've been in talks with Trident considering a merger. We started by merging our chemical businesses three years ago. Now we're talking abut a full on merger of the two companies, that'll put us four times as big as Ewing Industries. And I've got a few other things I'm putting together to take a bit out of them. What I need to know is you're still on board."

"As long as you don't touch my children's inheritance I'm in favor of knocking the Ewing boys off their perch. I wanted to talk to you about Arturo. Did he mention resigning to you?"

"Resigning? No."

"Apparently he put in his notice. Of course we didn't accept the two weeks for him to hang around. But he's going over to Barnes Global. Senior General Council. I did some checking. He'll report to the V.P. that reports to Amy, directly. You might want to watch what you say around your son. Not to mention your daughter."

The old man John Ross meet on the tarmac and David meet with meets in a beautiful living room with wallpaper and French antiques and a marble fire place. He meets with four others and says, "The Ewing Foundation has what we want controlled and it's worked out leasing agreements not only with Ewing Oil but ExxonMobil, BP and Chevron."

The one man says, "Good. Just what we wanted. Keeping the price of oil low puts the screws to the Russians and allies hubris to build in China. What about Maracaibo?"

"He's agreed to go in with Branchwater. He's enlisted the help of Nolan Cohen."

"Good. The sooner we put them on the books the better. We've got the contacts to control the county. We've just got to show them some support. When do they leave?"

John Ross says, "When ever you say."

"The sooner the better. I keep pressure on a low crude price, including getting you Maracaibo and you get your fringe group in check."

"As I said Mr. Ewing, you have our full support. The people you are concerned about are being handled."

"Very good," Don Lockwood says. "I told you, we could trust him. Make no mistake that boy can smell oil in the ground and stir up some trouble for the Maracaibean Government, they won't soon forget. He's got a bit of a family score to settle down in South America anyway."

In the living room of Southfork Sue Ellen says what do you mean you have to go to South America?"

"I'll be in Caracas and Maracaibo."

"Why you?"

"Ewing Oil bought a company with ties in Venezuela. Our partners don't want meetings with seconds."

"You're not the President of Ewing Oil."

"I just need you to know. I have to do this. I can't hide away at Southfork and think everything will be OK. If something happens I need you to rely on Mateo."

"Happens. John Ross you can't go."

Bo asks, "What's this company that's so important?"

"A Spanish company, De Le Vega Resources. It was Venezuelan. They're partnered with the Cano Group. The Cano family has it in for us, as you'll all aware."

Sue Ellen, on the verge of tears says, "That's why you can't go."

"Cliff Barnes was dealing with them to steal Chris's methane extraction patents. Vicente is the one that held us captive. There have been dealings with the Cano family and an American for sometime, against this family."

"Who?" Bo asks.

"I've got to handle this. They're also the team that put the hit a grandpa, why he didn't return. He was down there setting up trouble."

Sue Ellen yells, "And now that's what you plan on doing."

"Grandpa went down there blind for the government and they didn't back him up. I'm not going down blind. And I've got my own back up. And I've got some friends inside. But the fact is they're not going to leave us alone until we deal with them and can prove they'd better leave us alone."

Bo says, "They stated the fire on the ranch?"

"Yes. There are people that have a problem with low oil prices. I'm not going to teach my boys to hide out. This will be a message to everyone, put up with us or else." Sue Ellen hugs her son. He whispers, "Just listen to Mateo. Bo can handle Wendell. Mateo will take care of everything else and if I don't come back, you make sure those boys know I love them. And Pamela too."

Holding back her tears, Sue Ellen shakes her head yes.

Sue Ellen runs into Pamela's apartment. "Please. Please you've got to call him. He'll stay if you tell him to."

"What are you talking about?" Pamela sits up calmly from reading a book.

"John Ross. He's gone off to some business deal in Venezuela. He made it sound like there's a chance he won't make it back. I want you to call him. Tell him to come home, now. He'll listen to you."

Pamela quickly takes out her phone and calls, "What business deal?"

"I don't know. Oil I'm sure."

Getting voice mail Pamela says, "John Ross this is Pamela. Your mother's here. She says you're in Venezuela. Listen to me you selfish son of a bitch. You've got three kids relying on you and you already have more than enough money! So get back here and be a man and take care of this family!" She then throws the phone across the room. "Can you get a hold of Mateo?"

"Yes."

"He's still here?"

"As far as I know."

"Tell him to meet us at Southfork?"

Mateo walks into the living room of Southfork and Pamela yells at him, "I know you know how to get a hold oh John

Ross. Call him right now. I want to talk to him."

"No!"

She beats on his chest. "Don't give me no. Call him! Anything happens to him I swear to you!"

"I'm not calling him." Mateo holds her back.

"How could he? Do you know what it'll do to his sons? His mother? . . . His brother?"

"You?"

"I don't give a damn. Except for my boys. And Sue Ellen. She doesn't deserve this."

"I'm not calling him."

"He's a selfish prick. Always was. Never thinks about anyone but himself and money!"

"That's enough." Mateo walks into the entry to leave.

"Don't tell me it's enough." Pamela follows him. "What's never enough is money for him and he's willing to sacrifice people who do love him, including my kids and his own mother!"

Turning back to confront her he says, "You think it's money? You're kidding right? You really think the kind of money you deal with happens without enemies?"

"I don't deal with the filth he does!"

"That's because he does it for you. You think you got those leases in the Darnell Basin without people violently objecting?"

"What did he do?"

"That's for John Ross tell you. He's had to deal with people hurting this family again and again. You have no idea. It's about time you do. He used Emma Ryland to get at her father. One of the people behind killing your babies!"

"What!"

"Your father didn't act alone. He dealt with Harris Ryland and Manuel Cano. You remember Vicente Cano? Held you at gun point in this house. The Cano family killed Jock Ewing long before you were born and acted with your father and Harris Ryland, the Mendez-Ochoa Cartel was their puppet, and they were just as guilty of killing your babies, you stupid bitch!" She goes to object. "Your dad's in a nut house in Mexico and Harris Ryland is locked up in solitaire in Florence for his own protection. You want me to tell you the shit they did to your dad? Your two aunt ain't been seen in decades. Christopher. And do you really think your grandmas plane just dropped out of the sky? There are a hell of a lot of people John Ross has had to deal with to keep this family safe."

"Oh my god."

"So no I won't call him because he's doing what he has to do. You could live a hundred life times and you'd never be good enough for him, and I'm sick of you walking around thinking otherwise." Mateo walks out of the house, leaving the front door wide open.

Bo walks in from the back. "What's going on?"

Sue Ellen holds Pamela.

John Ross and Nolan meet with a man who introduces himself as JuanCarlos Mantuano. "So glad you could make it. People aren't willing to stick there neck out unless they know the Americans will back them up."

"That's why I'm here. You start the coup and I assure you, we've got your back. This is my friend Nolan Cohen."

"Welcome Mr. Cohen. The Cano family will be our major obstacle here in Maracaibo but I hear you've got De La Vaga."

"Ewing Oil owns sixty percent of De La Vega S.A. which owns all of De La Vega of Venezuela, or is suppose to."

"And the De La Vega family are supportive?"

"Eager to return to Maracaibo. De Le Vaga S.A. also acquired a forty percent share of the Cano Group."

"And by business owns another forty percent."

"Looks like we're ready to go."

Pamela, Sue Ellen, Ben and Amy watch a television news report about a revolution breaking out in Maracaibo.

In South America a war explodes in the city and pushes into the jungle.

John Ross runs with Nolan up and into a private plane.

The jet races down the runway and takes off. Fighters approach and then escort it.

Inside the plane, on the phone, John Ross says, "Done. We've set in place a revolution that'll turn Maracaibo over to us . . . Venezuela will fall apart piece by piece . . . Just set it up so I can finally meet him."

John Ross walks into a very beautiful living room, the sitting room of a wealthy and powerful person, an older man standing by the fireplace.

"You must be John Ross Ewing the third."

"And you must be the man I've been eager to meet after all these years. The man that handled the Barnes Wentworth family."

"You're welcome."

"You destroyed Cliff Barnes. He's a babbling fool. Locked up for his own protection. But not before he hurt his daughter and kill her babies."

"Collateral damage."

John Ross takes a gun from his back and at point black range blows the man's head apart. Blood splatters everywhere and his body falls to the floor. "Pamela's off limits."

John Ross then walks back out of the room, stopping at the door to meet the old man from the tarmac. He takes blood from his chest and smears it on old man's face. "That takes care of your supposed rouge member. I'm sure you can clean up the mess."

John Ross continues to walk out when the man's words stops him. "We have an opening. If you're interested."

John Ross stands there without turning to look back at him.

A television news anchor says, "CalcoPreston's board voted today on a break up of the company. CalcoPreston will become the nation's largest pure play oil company while Calco will assume shipping, refining and marketing. David Wendell will serve as Chairman and Pamela Ewing as President and CEO of CalcoPreston. Wall Street Titian, Mitchell Negley," showing a picture of the man from the tarmac, "will take over Calco as its Chairman and move the company's headquarters to Detroit, Michigan.

Lucas Spelman died," showing a picture of the man John Ross shot, "of a massive brain hemorrhage in his New York estate, Stonehurst. Oil and finance magnet, Spelman operated behind the scenes on many deals here in Dallas."

The Ewings gather out back for a family barbecue. John Ross mans the grill. Sue Ellen, Isabell and the house keeper bring other food out from the kitchen. Pamela arrives to join them. He boys rushing up to her. Mateo says to John Ross, "Just heard from my inside contact, David Wendell's meeting with his sons* to figure out how to politically block West Star's new refinery. Which of course then Ewing Oil will have to figure out what to do with all their Darnell oil."

"Well that's no good. Oh by the way, since pipeline for CalcoPreston's Darnell oil now belongs to Calco, Ryland Transport bought it, thanks to Bo."

Mateo grins.

"After dinner talk to Amy, she what are media people can do about the Wendell's."

"If not some tentacle of the Ewing Empire should do it, media investments, lobbyist, lawyers, accountants, grassroots organizations, think tanks and academics, and physical force."

"Branch-water is a as necessary kind of thing, but I leave that to you." John Ross pats him on the shoulder and takes the stakes over to the table.

The Ewing family gather eating and reminiscing.

*I messed up and used the name Mateo for David's youngest son and Elena and Drew Ramon's brother. I'll keep the later and change Mateo Wendell to Luis Wendell.
