If Cidre had had the gumption to put just a few lines into the Cyntax Dallas after it became known that Pam was dead it might've helped his character. Something like this. "My sister was married to a Ewing, she was in a car accident because of a Ewing & she ran away from Dallas because of the Ewing's! I may have buried the Barnes Ewing feud because of Miss Ellie when she was still alive but no more. I loved my sister & I won't rest till I bring the Ewing's to their knees after what they did to her!" That would've helped make sense of why Cliff was so bitter toward the Ewing's in the Cyntax Dallas. He did it all because of Pam, even paying off the Doctor who tried to help her before she died. I could understand him being bitter towards the Ewing's after he discovered that she had died of pancreatic cancer not long after escaping from the hospital following the tanker collision. Cliff did love Pam very much, he might not have shown it but he did and I believe that's why he acted the way he did in the Cyntax Dallas. The grief of her death clearly made him unhinged & very bitter. Very sad. :(
